![Gosick: The Complete Series, Part One [Blu-ray]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81AN3L7Cc+L.jpg)

In this 1920s tale of dark intrigue and romance, Japanese exchange student Kazuya Kujo strikes up a fast but uneasy friendship with the doll-like genius Victorique. Both outcasts, Victorique and Kujo explore the unsolved mysteries at their school. As they begin taking on more cases, a sinister plot begins to unfold in the shadows around them. Review: Deep story and character development - Gosick is one of the rare anime that has very detailed story and character development. The characters are very charming, deep, and complex. Each character has his or her own story to tell and has struggles to overcome. Even the slightest detail can give you a whole new meaning of a character's action and intention. A very few anime goes that far with story and characted development. I won't spoil anything but part 2 gets even better with more emotional rollercoaster. I still remember the ending for some reason. It is one of those anime that will make you remember for a very long time. Review: Historical Mystery Anime! - A fair amount of action, mystery, detective work. And fantasy. A meeting of a teenage boy, and teenage girl (she looks about 10 and small!) Could this turn into something romantic? Not sure, since she's bossy and sarcastic. He's kind and giving. And there's a sad and awful history to her life. Don't expect constant action, it's a thinking anime, too. It's a great combination of piecing things together in a historical setting around 1924. Some facts have been jumbled or changed to match the story, so it's cool!

Dark Reaper and Golden Fairy
I was a fan of this series back when it was available on Crunchyroll. It follows the odd duo the doll-like Victorique and Japanese foreigner Kazaya as they solve mysteries in a fictional french inspired country Sabure (sometimes Sauville). Victorique's wellspring of wisdom makes her a queen of quick deductions, and Kazaya plays 'Watson' to her 'Holmes'. Hopefully this series gets more popular, so we can get the novels translated as well. I recommend it if you're a fan of works like Detective Conan (Case Closed) or Sherlock Holmes style mysteries. Like Detective Conan, there is an ongoing plot slowly unraveling but Gosick does this in 24 episodes instead of hundreds.

Rating based on product received, not series
So, I haven't watched it yet because I'm a little behind watching my recent purchases, but I didnt think i would have to check the actual bluray case. Cover sleeve i got was for part 1, but the bluray was part 2. Definitely checking all going forward.

Perfect! I love mysteries!!
Really enjoyed this! For anyone who has read the manga and enjoyed that you will love the series. The pictures are perfect and the audio is very clear. I love Victorique and Kujo. They are really funny together. (you will see what I mean in the first two episodes). I cannot wait to get the rest of the series.

its like if sherlock was a short cute as a button blond girl and watson was an exchange student that falls deeply in love with her with each passing episode as they solve mystery's even though Victorique is pretty much locked in a tower library on the grounds of a private school.

The manufacturer needs to take better care when producing a dvd to ensure it is not faulty.
