Wooh! Now that's fast! Requires patience.
You must spend some time configuring the right way. Here's some advice. 1) I used a FS-GT3C controller/receiver to connect to the ESC. This made it much easier to fine tune. 2) Mine went WAY faster in reverse! Despite buying the motor/esc combo and matching the red, blue, yellow wires. My car was twice as fast in reverse. To fix, I swapped the blue and yellow motor wires and instantly my RC car is insanely fast going forward. 3) The ESC can be programmed via an extra programming card. That will help you set the min/max strength of forward, reverse, braking strength and more, including some settings you may not be thinking of. 4) If you are coming from a brushed motor to this brushless motor/esc, be sure to give it a gentle break-in. I used more than half a battery before I really started pushing it to max speed. 5) I built a Tamiya Hot Shot 2 and a Tamiya Dark Impact and managed to cram 2 of these motors in. While I was successful at fitting the motor in both cars, the Dark Impact required that I grind down the tip of the motors drive rod. They give you a generous size on the motor, but the Dark Impact has space limitations. I own 5, 1/10th scale RC cars/trucks. 2 are brushed, 3 are brushless. Bang for the buck, excellent price, faster top speed than expected. Cons: The esc is just a little big. Not by much. But, let's just say I really worked to fit it into the Hot Shot 2. Was an easy fit on the Dark Impact. Fitting the motor on the Dark Impact took some thought. It'll only fit 1 way! 3s Lipo promoted on listing, paperwork in box says 2s only. I only run 2s, but I've noticed others say 3s works. While the numbers say it is possible. I believe the manufacturer is trying to keep us within safe limits. Best to stick with 2s and if attempting 3s, monitor very closely for heat build up. Pros: No motor heat buildup on the 2 I am currently running. Motors seems to stay way cooler than brushed motors. Love the torque and top speed (keeping stock gearing). 4wd cars seem to love it. A really nice upgrade for anyone coming from brushed to brushless. There's more room for tweaking. I like how many adjustments I can make. I also really liked the price. I'm actively racing my two cars, and if I run into troubles, I will be sure to update my review.

This thing is alright
So I put this in a traxxas trx4 as a joke to see the speed in a crawler and if it’s any good. The things I’ve learnt so far are interesting. First you do need the program card for this to connect right. The whole thing needs some tweak like acceleration and that. But when u first plug in the program card change the start mode to a different level if it’s not working I changed mine and it instantly started to connect and start moving. So far with how it runs it hasn’t been terrible not super jerky so it does still crawl. Also has a pretty high top speed. Overall this a good product under the use of someone who knows that they are doing.

Burned up and caught fire
Stay away. Finally got around to getting the two units I ordered connected and going. Within 10 seconds the ESC started smoking and burned off a motor lead. Could have easily caused a house fire.

Cheap way into brushless
Worked great on 2s power, says it can handle 3s but in my experience 3s was too much for the esc. Switched to an Arrma 120BLX esc and the motor performed great and eventually upgraded to the GoolRC 3660 3800kv motor

Worth it
Awesome little motor, capable of 60mph with right gearing. I geared up and use on a short course on 2wd Stampede

So far this combo does not work in a hotshot II. The car can't run from stop. It would start running off the ground but not on the ground. I set power to half on the remote, if I use more it will die mid power. Not happy with the product ...
