Good option for those who recently picked up a Wii U
I picked up two of these *used* from one of the marketplace sellers for under $10 a piece to use with my older Wiimote controllers to use with our new Wii U. Nintendo doesn't make it overly clear as to what games will require Wiimotes to have the MotionPlus capability, but Nintendo Land DOES require it (which is bundled with the Wii U Deluxe/Black system) so it's something they're probably going to push. The adapters I received came with the vinyl sleeves but nothing else, which wasn't surprising since I got them used. I'm assuming they're legit (or at least a very good knockoff), but wouldn't know what to look for to tell the difference anyway. Regardless, they attached to my controllers with no problem and synced up great with the Wii U, and I've been using them with no problems since.I've heard reports of third party devices with the MotionPlus technology having difficulty staying synced to the Wii U, so I was wary of buying something that wasn't an original Nintendo product. At the same time, Nintendo isn't selling the adapters by themselves currently, and buying new controllers at $40 a piece doesn't make sense when you've got perfectly good ones sitting unused with your old Wii. With that in mind, this is probably one of the most affordable ways to get working MotionPlus controllers for your Wii U. Just be wary of your seller - ask questions if you need to.

Don't waste your money on a new controller
I purchased 3 of the motion plus adapters. I bought a Wii console that came with one controller and nunchuck. The 3 off brand controller from Walmart weren't compatible with the resort games just because of the fact of not being motion plus. So rather than buying new controllers, I went this route. Have only used them once, but they seemed to work great!Very easy to attach. Just plugs in the bottom where you would plug in your nun chuck, the included sleeve fits over snug. They do have a plug on the adapter for your nun chuck. There's no slop or flimsiness to it. Very responsive, no loss in connection. About 1/3 of the cost of a new controller fitted with motion plus and they work fantastic. My only issue is that I have rechargeable battery packs on all my controllers and have to remove the sleeve and adapter to put the controller on the charging dock, but not a big deal. If you have the old controller and need to upgrade to a motion plus, this is a great buy. I recommend these for sure.

It works
Had to jiggle it a little bit.

Generic attachment; needs a way to change batteries but works fine.
Santa brought my daughter a Wii for Christmas, but I think he had a bit too much cider and did not realize that the Wii he brought only had one control. How can Dad school a 5-year-old in Wii Sports Resort without another control? I bought a 3rd party Wii remote along with this case to have the Motion Plus feature. When I received the box, I was a bit surprised because it was just a generic box without any English writing. I do not think this is a genuine Nintendo product, although that would not have really influenced my buying choice. Still, it would be nice to know in advance. This has worked fine for our use, but it sometimes pops out of the Wii control. I will give it the benefit of the doubt since I am using a third-party Wii controller. That is a bit of an annoyance, but it doesn't happen often enough for me to be dissatisfied with this as a whole. As other noted, it is really annoying that you have to take the control out of the shell to change the battery. I think I will cut out the back as others have suggested. Hooking the nunchuck to the bottom works just fine. No problems there.Note: This is not a standalone product. You *have* to buy (or own) a Wii controller to go with it. It is probably worth shopping around to see if you can find a Wii Motion Plus remote for cheaper than this case plus the control, but if you already have the control itself then this is the way to go.

Works great! The real deal.
Works great. We still have a Wii and even though Nintendo doesn't really put out new things, there are lots of games and previously owned games available. We bought Wii Sports and didn't realize that you needed to buy a Wii Motion+ adapter or controller! Its hard to find and the official stock I found is expensive because it includes the main controller AND the adapter. I just wanted to buy the adapter. From reviews, there are 3rd party ones but the reviews bashed at lot of them, saying they were shoddy. These are from Nintendo. They are black as you can see so technically it clashes with the default white controllers but we didn't care. It snaps in snugly and has been working great. AS other reviews state, the instructions come in Japanese but you don't really need them. Its pretty obvious how to snap them in place, you can use the pictures or simply google if you need help. Some photos that show how it looks and fits.

Needed Upgrade for the Wii U
Nintendo does a lot of things rights, and with the Wii U system that includes being able to continue to play the games you may have purchased for your early generation Wii system. In order to play those games on the Wii U, you do need to upgrade to the Wii Motion Plus controllers, which can cost $40+ for new controllers, and if you plan on buying 4 so that the whole family can continue playing, that can lead to some serious dough. These adapters simply snap onto the base of your existing Wii controllers and you are ready to play on the new Wii U at a fraction of the cost.Highly recommended for families that want to upgrade to a Wii U.

sux
of course the extension is genuine and the sensing it does for the games is great and everything BUTthis is meant for kids it should be more durable, the cover looks cheap it has external shards like it was molded from cheaper material than the original ones shipped by Nintendoand the locks that is used to attach the extensions to teh wiimote broke when changing the battery (which you have to remove because u're using the cover)
