OK for vertical but not for sidewall terminations. For sidewall you’ll want a non-screened dryer vent hood with a backdraft preventer.

It doesn't restrict air flow more than a domed or pointed pipe cap. You have to have some kind of pipe cap, or your fan will be exposed to debris and the elements. I didn't get a noticeable change in air flow...
