Installation is simply place it up, tighten the single screw, and plug it in. Relatively quiet, it's not disturbing. Don't know what the original sounded like, so can't compare. Very well made no complaints about the gauge of the metal as some reviewers complained about. My installation was in a sloped ceiling. Assembly fit like a glove into the existing fan housing. Had to do a little tweaking with the back adjustment screws to the motor and fan to spin without hitting existing housing. Installed in 15 minutes and it works perfectly. The model # of the one I was using this product for is S80LU-A **Q: What is the CFM of the model?** A: Not sure what the CFM is. It is about 25% better than what you probably have now and 25% quieter. Unless the manufacturer has corrected it, you'll probably have to swap out the rubber grommets that come with it. fairly easy to do, most chain hardware stores have higher quality, thicker grommets, or use the ones from the motor you remove. It is a fairly easy replacement other than the grommet issue and the dust & crud that was in my old fan & housing.
