NICE - SO NICE I PURCHASED A 2ND ONE
I suppose a laser mouse would be a small improvement, but the optical mouse provided is quite good enough. Just remember to turn it off when not in use. The keyboard is quiet and feels just right. The special keys for automatic connection to Email, Internet, controlling sound, etc, work properly - without additional software. The O/S on my desktop is Vista Home. I haven't tested it on my laptop or Netbook, both running XP. But I'm sure keyboard and mouse would work just as well on them. It took only ten minutes to unpack, install, boot-up my computer, and write this review. I'll update after I've used it a while. ****************** Update: 12-18-2010 ****************** After using the MK320 for several days, I can testify that the Logitech MK320 Keyboard and Mouse are an excellent choice for anyone owning a desktop or portable computer running Windows Vista OS. I'm ordering a second MK320 for my XP Desktop computer. It's presently connected to an old wired (no brand) keyboard and mouse. They're past due for the junk yard. ****************** UPDATE: 2/8/11 ****************** The second keyboard came and has been in use for about ten days. It is as nice as the first. I have it plugged into my second desktop (XP OS). I sometimes unplug it and use it on my Netbook (also XP OS). It is easily identified on both computers and it makes a great difference - especially with the Netbook. I'm using the included alkaline batteries, but I'm thinking about using my NIMH rechargeable batteries when the alkaline batteries die. This is no big deal. The convenience of this keyboard and mouse are worth the possible alkaline battery expense. Also, I'm a touch typist and this keyboard gives me no problems keeping up to my natural speed. It feels right and it performs right. I cannot imagine a better deal. I have raised my rating from four stars to five stars.

Easy, reliable, & wireless!!!
This was a gift for my father in laws computer upgrade. His only gripe was that there is no light confirmation for the Caps Lock. In all honesty, these are easy to set up, very reliable, & the battery lasts for a several months of light use. Battery life similar to a remote for a TV, change maybe once a year.

Breathed new life into my old computer
Logitech MK320 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo, Long Range Wireless Keyboard and Mouse I bought this keyboard to replace an older Logitech wireless mouse/keyboard (model K520) that came with a computer I bought the end of 2012. The computer is running Windows 8.1. The older keyboard frequently lost communication with the PC; I'd have to shake it around the desktop to get it going again and a battery change didn't help. I was pleased right away with the performance of this product. It comes with no software, no directions. Just removed the dongle for the old keyboard, and inserted the new dongle for this product into a USB slot. This was done while the PC was running. The keyboard and mouse worked instantly. Mouse and keyboard work in BIOS mode, i.e. before Windows boots, so that's not a problem. Both are comfortable and responsive and so the old computer is a joy to use again. There are "hot keys" with no directions on what to do about them. Their default actions on my PC: app switch icon: Task Switcher Email icon: Chrome (default browser). No page loaded. With each repeat, a new, empty Chrome window. Home icon: Chrome loaded without loading any page. 2nd press: Same Chrome window loads its Home page. Music icon: Loads Windows Media Player Desktop icon: Shows Windows 7 desktop FN-F5: Opens Windows O.S. search box FN-F6: Locks PC FN-F7: Opened File Explorer to "This PC" view FN-F8: Puts computer into Sleep Mode FN-PrintScreen: equivalent of clicking mouse button 2 in the active window FN-Pause|Break: Toggles Scroll Lock ON/OFF So - how do you configure these keys: IN Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers: Under "Devices", there is "Logitech Unifying Receiver". Click it with mouse button 2 for mouse and keyboard settings. You get the standard Windows setup dialogs for keyboards and mice. So - the answer to hotkey configuration: Logitech Setpoint Software. Go to [...] and download Setpoint Software Smart Installer for your version of windows. Install My reassigned keyboard settings: App switch icon: Control Panel Email icon: opens Chrome to GMail page Home icon: Could not reassign to open Setpoint. Probably not a useful thing to do anyway because Setpoint has installed a new "Mouse and Keyboard Settings" icon in the System Tray. So I assigned it to open my Notepad++ text editor. Music icon: Spotify One MINOR drawback: as with my old Logitech keyboard, there is no CapsLock LED or indicator. Logitech recommends disabling the CapsLock key, so that's the probably why there's no indicator! I recommend this product!

So, looks like I'm a bit of a klutz. I killed my last keyboard by spilling soda in it. Tried to rince it off, but it didn't work. So this time I bought this little keyboard, thinking if something like this ever happened again... well, it took 3 days and one clingy cat. It was milk this time. I took the thing completely appart. (the keyboard, not the cat), rinse it off, washed the sticky parts with alcohol, waited until it was completely dry, put it back up again and it's like nothing happened. Working like a charm.

I always go back to Logitech and this mouse and keyboard prove I'm right to do so. Love both. The mouse is the most comfortable I've had and the keyboard is just perfect for my use. I did get a wrist rest for the keyboard. Not strictly necessary but if you do a lot of typing it's a good idea for comfort. EDIT: I've been using this combo for over a year now - and it gets a LOT of use. Works as well as it did the day I got it and it works very well.
