Diamond Sharpening Stone, 5 Pcs Knife Sharpening Stone with Extra Fine/Coarse Plate and Non-slip Base, 400/600/800/1000/1200 Grit

This does an excellent job of keeping our kitchen knives, safely sharp. No slipping. The knife cuts where you put it on a vegetable, after sharpening. I like that it has a quick, carbide draw sharpener for garden and rougher knives, or for repairing a damaged knife. The 1000 grip panel is the extra touch for good kitchen work and hunting knives. My pocket knife, which is a tool and used as such, is quickly brought back with just a few strokes on the 400 grit and 600 grit. A few swipes on the 1000 grit panel if it is the end of the day. This sharpener is NOT meant for sharpening scissors or shears, but if you understand what you are doing, it works great for that chore. If you haven’t been educated to know how different scissors need to be sharpened, don’t do it, you will ruin you scissors. This knife sharpener will not ruin them, you will. I pulled my neighbor’s hedge shears out of his garbage, spent 5 minutes with it, then set it by his garage door. Now, he loves it. This is not a, “no-brainer,” sharper. But, a no-brainer sharpener will not get a knife half as sharp as this will if you take 15 minutes to learn how to properly sharpen a knife. It is very reasonably priced, and safe to use. I will buy again

Amazing sharpening stones! They work very well for sharpening wood working tools after a bit of practice. They remove material quickly and leave a very fine edge. My only complaint is that they are very thin so they are difficult to hold in a jig (I found clamping them to a table works best). I found that you can get away with the #400, #800, and #1200 to sharpen the blade to a good level. The size of the plates means I can transport them easily.

Fantastic for the price, but after 3 small pocket knives and 1 big knife (fairly expensive skinning knife to be fair) my 400 and 800 grits are almost slippery feeling to the touch and the others are already smoothing fast, but I did get some excellent edges. TLDR: perfect for beginners or people wanting to try free hand sharpening. If you’re serious, invest in something that will last longer.

Great buy and works great! Have used a sharpening stone and basic kitchen sharpeners before. They didn’t give the same kind of results as this Diamond 3 sided sharpening stone block. Sharpened all kitchen knives and pocket knives. Kitchen knives were really dull, smashing fruits and veggies before cutting. Pocket knives had nicks and chips from use. Used all three sides in order on all knives. Now all knives cutting like new. Especially nice is the pairing knife’s which can cut thin slices no problem on tomatoes. Definitely recommend. I drizzle some water on all three sides before use.

I had compared this with 'S SATC' double sided as well as the Sharpal. This turned out to be #2 in that ranking. Ultimately kept the Sharpal (as a gift to someone) and returned the rest. Compared to the Sharpal, there was minimal to no grit contamination on the fine side. This makes sense since these seem to be two plates manufactured separately and stuck together. The Sharpal and 'S SATC' are solid steel slabs with diamonds on both sides. This one has thin plates stuck on either side of a light plasticky base. Does not feel solid at all but could be adequate. I have some experience with these thin plated diamonds (chefknivestogo's 140 grit 1x6 stones) and if this is from a similar source, they should last a good long time. You pay way less than the Sharpal but you lose the solid case (which doubles as stone holder), the excellent non-slip surface, the built-in holder for the angle guide and a thick machined plate. Ultimately though, I think they cheaped out a bit too much on the usability. There are 4 small (1/2"x1/2") non-slip squares which simply do not do the job of holding it in place. You'll have to use a larger non-slip mat under this or a separate stone holder. As an item to gift a sharpening enthusiast, I chose the Sharpal. I hope the next revision finds a place for the angle-guide and adds a more effective non-slip surface under. With those two fixed, this would be a value contender as it will be functionally 100%. Without them, I suspect the irritation in every use would make the Sharpal a better value overall. If you already have an adjustable stone holder or a good non-slip mat, this may work out well given the price.

These are amazing for the price, i did make a non slip block to attach them to. There thin, but they work great, (ive been sharpening stones since working at a meatworks 40 years ago) don't waste your money on them kit ones, these will make it easier to sharpen and last much much longer. Mainly use the 400 then 1000
