VegTrug Classic Self Watering Kit Medium 1.8m, Black

Purchased to use in my VEG TRUG , these watering troughs are extremely sturdy and well made. Easy to assemble and fit the TRUG well but for them to work as designed you do need to ensure you fit them horizontally level. . One word of caution is when you start to place the compost/soil on top of these units , the trough lids can move quite easily resulting in the compost falling inside the trough where the water is held. You need to place the initial quantities of compost carefully onto these troughs to ensure the lids do not move but once covered and lids secured you can bulk in the compost. Water level indicators do their job , looking forward to seeing how effective this set up is during the summer months. Good construction, very functional and I believe good value.

When you've got the liner in place the trug filled up and then these in position, I found it difficult to fix trug canopy in place.

Easy to put together, item works well and saves a lot of hassle watering, just check the level and fill as required.

Veg trug has proven invaluable for growing in heavily deer infested area. The watering trays gives you 3-5 days with no watering. Just adjust frequency when heat index is over 100

They don't fit into the wooden frame - too loose with a lot of gaps. The white tube was bent under a couple of days of South Australian heat. One of the product is missing a clear water measure reader.

The concept is great and the water storage volume is good. But the level indicator always, and I mean always, gets stuck. So you can't tell when it's empty and you can't tell when it's full without a lot of fidgeting. The Planter and green house cover both get 5 stars. Just the self watering mechanism is a problem.

I bought 4 of these kits for my 4 med raised VegTrug planters. Each have 2 trays in each kit. 5 of the trays are leaking. This happened the first time I filled them and before I ever even water the top of the soil. Also some of the fill and gauge tubes started to bend apparently from the 90 degree weather here.
