When an unannounced, uninvited and unwelcome family of fun-loving misfits converge upon a lakeside resort to join their relatives for a summer of relaxation, the result is anything but restful in this raucous comedy starring Dan Aykroyd and John Candy. Fun family movie
This is a classic and I love to watch it whenever we're in Bass Lake where this was filmed. It has a few inappropriate moments, but overall good family movie. Dan Ackroyd is excellent at playing an obnoxious windbag to the point he gets on your nerves, but that's the point, isn't it? It always makes me laugh and John Candy is wonderful. Miss him.

Crystal clear picture / Great Film
This blu ray is crystal clear. The image quality is great. 1080p. It's presented in wide-screen. I have never seen this movie so clear. I have had the dvd for years & this blu ray is an improved picture quality. Just has 1 special feature: A theatrical trailer. They might have just used software to "upscale" the dvd. I can't be sure but that is what I suspect. I don't think they took the negative & re-scanned it, or took an interpositive & scanned one of those, because that would take a wet-gate scan & restoration. Honestly this looks like when you zoom in on the DVD, but with a much clearer picture, with no dust, scratches, or pings...The audio shares the same ups & downs as the dvd version with dialogue hard to hear, but music coming in loud. There is a noticeable tremolo effect, or volume increase & decrease during some dialogue. As far as the movie itself: It's a John Hughes written classic with Dan Aykroyd & John Candy, so it's a classic & a must-have for any collection. Plot: Dan Aykroyd (Roman Craig) & Anette Benning's family show up unexpected & uninvited to crash John Candy's (Chet Ripley) Low-Key vacation in a big lodge on a lake in upstate NY.

Salve . Nonostante non spedito con Amazon Prime è arrivato in poco tempo .IL film è esilarante il più bello che abbia fatto John Candy secondo me . IL titolo in Italiano sarebbe "Non è stata una vacanza ma è stata una guerra ".Un Film davvero comico , consigliato per tutta la famiglia .
