If you can use the battery terminals (the exposed part) as they are you do not need the tabs. When I bought these batteries I needed the tabs. I pulled the black insulating cover off to expose the metal tabs. Those tabs are typically used to solder to some piece of equipment. **Q: Ordered for outdoor solar lights, not working.
