Tried all the online help articles and even oddball solutions like using a dedicated AT&T hotspot and a hotspot from my iPhone. Tried reconfiguring my WiFi in a variety of ways, but the Nest could never see a single WiFi network. If I left it searching for WiFi, it would run the battery completely down and it wouldn't boot until I plugged it into a micro-USB charger for hours. From way too much online troubleshooting, sounds like a known defective wireless chip.
