Well made
Very useful tool for spreading my 4 cylinder brake cylinders for new brake pads. I had been using screwdrivers and wrenches before using this. While screwdrivers and wrenches work, this allows the brake cylinders to be spread even only.

great tool to have in the tool box
good tool to have in the bike repair tool box if you have a disk breaks bicycle. when the break pad got stick together, nothing will do till you try this tool. work as described and very easy to prey open the pads and put the wheel back on. after all, who wants to stuck in the forage all day to fix breaks? let's ride!

Great tool to spread straighten and align pistons
Since you are looking at this item, you clearly use disc brakes. If you use hydraulic brakes, you know that sometimes the pistons don't come out straight. They sometimes come out top first or just slightly slanted. This uneven application will cause uneven break pad wear and reduce the overall life of your brake pads since one side/edge will be worn out before the rest of the pad. This tool is great not only at spreading the pads and pistons without having to remove the brake pads. But it is fantastic at straightening the pistons if they don't come out evenly. Pros: - Good Value, priced about right for a simple tool - Good for spreading pads - Even better at straightening and aligning pistons - No need to remove brake pads for service Cons: - The whole tool is the same thickness as a rotor, which is fairly thing. If you apply too much force, it will bend

Useful, better than the other park tool option.
Metal is a little thin, but functional.

One way to spread bike break pads
For some reason there are dozens of tools that claim to spread brake pads, and I'm betting most or all of them work. This is a wheel that has been re-invented many, many times. But this light, durable, one-piece spreader does the trick. It's very easy and logical to use. You just stick it between the brake pads and spread them apart. Very simple, and i love that it's just one device, not a combination of devices like those plastic wedges. Oh, and this will never break.

Good value. Good tool. Forget about the screwdriver.
On my first tire change. On my first bike with disc brakes. Yes. Managed to freeze the front brake pads. And I had a pack of orange do-hickee spacer thangs! Smooth move. Have a well used flat head in the garage that doubles for 10 or so odd uses-everything but screwdrivering. Reluctantly talked myself out of it. Anyway. Fully recommend this tool. Couldn't have worked better or easier. Now that I bought one-probably never need it again. But a number of my friends are just as slow as me so might see some more use after all.

Makes brake pad install easier
Bought this after trying to install some pads with just a screwdriver (I was unsuccessful then). These made the job way easier and I have officially changed my first ebike disc brake pads!

Care needed as it’s metal but works well

High quality and works perfectly. As it should for the high price. With Park Tool you really do get what you pay for (if you can afford it).

Not a lot to get thrilled about here, but it works as intended and makes brake pad changes/servicing the brakes on a bike an absolute breeze. Decent quality, not flimsy and works exactly as you would expect it to. Worth the price of admission, particularly if you do all your own maintenance on your bike(s).
