To alleviate his parents financial troubles, he starts making money illegally, through a site called Darkweb. This turns out to be an organized crime group, headed by an internationally sought-after criminal, Zed. Alex quickly works his way up the ranks, moves to Toronto and finds himself getting more involved. He partners up with a street-wise hustler named Sye and Kira, which puts Alex into a state of conflict. Good acting but plot and action was so-so!
Odd thing, another reviewer mentioned this being much more factual and true to hacking than the 1995 movie called Hackers. I totally disagree. While the 1995 flick was cheesy, it still was better than this. Actually, this movie had almost nothing to do with computer hacking. At the beginning they showed a few things but overall, other than using a laptop to commit cyber crime, there really was no actual hacking. It was also very over the top or unrealistic with most of the crime stuff too. Still, if you don't take it too seriously, it could be enjoyable. A much better computer crime related movie is a 2000 movie called Track down (outside the US called Takedown) with Skeet Ulrich.

Don't do it! Find something better.
Horrible! Wanna be hollywood hacker crap! Amazed they were not riding around on roller blades and skate boards. Most highly secure places would at least give their one uber security guard a desk.

Ending Interupted
Nothing is like getting into a movie and just before the intended ending, it just doesn't end, it stops. Like there should be at least another 15-20 minutes of movie left. Yeah, this one does that.

Loved how that one character conducted the proverbial orchestra at the end... that was just perfect.
This one had a few implausible moments, but all in all, it was entertaining. I appreciated that it wasn't just a rehash of everything we've seen before in this genre. Loved how that one character conducted the proverbial orchestra at the end... that was just perfect.

I HAVE AN UNCLE
Alex (Callan McAuliffe) is a credit card hacker, attempting to sell items bought with stolen credit cards in Toronto. Here he meets Sye (Daniel Eric Gold) who has connections. They operate a very good business when they add a Kira (Lorraine Nicholson) who also has connections. They also love to disrupt the banking system. They eventually wind up in Hong Kong with the goal of contacting "Zed" (Clifton Collins Jr.) the chief hacker who runs the hacker web site on the dark web. The film also goes under the title "Anonymous". It is also described as a "love story" but you have to look for it. The film ends rather awkwardly after creating a great tale. Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
