We found the engine had a broken intake valve spring. This tool was easy to use, and worked very well to compress the damaged valve spring and allow us to install the new one. There are no directions, so you kind of have to figure it out on your own, but it's not difficult. We ended up using the camshaft cap mounting holes to install the brackets. After that it was simple. I know they have a lot of problems with the valve train (rocker arms) on this engine, but this is the first one we had with a broken valve spring. I am very pleased with this purchase. Review: It's ok - Why did you pick this product vs others?: This tool worked for a 01 honda civic. But you will only get 2 bolts to fit on locking this down to the head.
