Purchased 11 months ago. The plastic inside the handle strap is broken and sharp.** A: The plastic in my handle broke last night. I had the product for about 6 months. **Q: will this lay flat if I want to put my tablet into a protective case?** A: Yes. The rectangle is a large patch of velcro backed with strong adhesive that makes the patch semi-permanently attach to back of tablet. Then the strap, which also converts to a easel-type stand, sticks firmly to the rectangle patch by velcro. This would make it easy if you want to remove strap to lay flat. The velcro holds very well tho.. you'd definitely have to be intentional to pull the strap/stand apart. I love mine! **Q: If I want to remove the adhesive later will it be difficult and perhaps damage my iPad?** A: First I put it on the 8-1/2 inch Samsung tablet. Worked fine but I wanted to increase the protection of the tablet. So I removed it. I laid it on the table flat and then very slowly and patiently peeled it off. It sticks real strong so be patient and keep it flat so you won't crack the screen. It took a while. Like 20 minutes. Just a gentle constant pull so it is coming loose at about the speed of a minute hand or less. Don't hurry. Then I installed a shock proof case made for my tablet that provides protection for the sides and back. I reinstalled this hand strap on the back of the shock proof case and now I'm even happier. A small drop to the edge and it's got some protection. A little whap to the back and a pretty good protection. And a nice hand strap that also doubles to prop up the whole thing better than any stand I have ever used. But the LCD glass screen is still out there in danger. I wanted protection for the screen. Well, in the package for the Fintie Universal tablet Hand Strap there was a thick clear plastic protector(I'd guess about 1mm thick) included. I can't find any info about it and nothing in the Fintie package acknowledged that it was included. But it was great. I trimmed it to fit my tablet. Put it on the LCD and the touch screen still works perfectly. And so far no visibility issues. I'm pretty sure at that thickness it increases the ability of the glass to take a front shock considerably over just the plain glass. I would like to find some more of this thick clear plastic but everything else I find is just that thin scratch protector stuff. End result is I am very happy with this whole Fintie product. If I order another one I hope it comes with that same piece of thick clear plastic. **Q: Will this work on the new 10" kindle fire hd oris it too heavy?** A: Yes, it will definitely work. And it’s not heavy, though the handle is rather bulky. It comes with two thin adhesive pads, a small one and a larger one. You could even cut them to the size you want. You stick the adhesive patch to the back of your device, then attach the handle: they are simply Velcro. I love mine because I can use the handle while I’m reading on my iPad, but when I want to use it in its keypad case, I just pull off the handle and put the iPad in the case...the Velcro pad on back is thin enough that it doesn’t interfere with fitting it into the case. It’s harder than I anticipated to find something that’s sturdy, adjustable, and lasts. Parts of this product are really impressive. The adhesive and the Velcro are high quality and durable. If you primarily want to use this to hold something rather than as a stand, it would be five stars, it’s a great choice. As a stand, it’s okay. It’s not very adjustable, but I can just about sneak two different positions out of it by adjusting the Velcro. The biggest problem is that the plastic rib stiffening the stand started to bend after a couple months of use (some other users have pictures). Then, at six months of use, it snapped in half, rendering the stand useless. I repaired mine by shoving several skewers into the fabric casing of the stand. Works fine again now.
