## Overview

Brilliant Green Agar by ReadyMED is a specialized medium designed for the selective screening and differentiation of Salmonella in various samples, including clinical and food sources. This 100g package ensures optimal performance when prepared and stored correctly, making it an essential tool for laboratories focused on microbiological safety.

## Description

Principle:- The Brilliant Green Agar is selective medium for the Salmonellae species. The peptone, Tryptone, Yeast extract provides all essential nutrients and growth factors, whilst the brilliant green acts as inhibitor for majority of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. This medium is selectively used for isolation of Salmonella from specimens of heavily contaminated such as feces, sewage, urine or any other materials in which Salmonella can harbor. Precautions to be taken:- These microbial media are intended for the in-vitro use only. All the handling, experiments, storage, and discarding should be performed with the help of trained and experienced technicians and as per the established guidelines. The material should be disposed only after proper serialization by autoclaving. Harmful and may cause sensitization by inhalation, irritation to eyes, respiratory system and skin. Always use protective gear while handling this medium.

- Use:- For selective screening and differentiation of Salmonella from clinical, pharmaceutical, food, dairy, samples etc.
- Directions:- Suspend 58.09 gram in 1000 ml distilled water adjust the pH if required. Boil to dissolve Brilliant Green Agar, the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs pressure (121 °C) for 15 min, cool it to 42-45 °C and distribute aseptically in to the plates. Prepared plates should be aged for 24 hours before use and can be stored at 2-8 ⁰C.
- Storage and Shelf Life:- Hygroscopic; keep container tightly closed. Store at temperature below 30⁰C and dry place. Expected performance when stored at optimum conditions and within expiry date.
- Disposal:- To avoid the contamination or propagation of any hazardous microbes the used, unusable or modified preparation of this product must be disposed after autoclaving or incineration after completion of task.
- Performance and Evaluation:- The expected performance of the medium is liable to use as per the direction on the label when stored at optimum conditions and within expiry date.
