I own umpteen different colors of the long sleeve fleeces. I much prefer their products to pricier ones such as Reebok, Puma, and others. I spend my cold Upstate NY winters in them and they actually help us save on oil heating prices. I love that the fleece washes and drys well and generally does not lose its fluffiness.Never having bought one of the vests before, I decided to take a chance and order one. I LOVE THIS VEST! It fits me very, very well. I am 5'3", weigh about 122, 36C and ordered a medium. I must say, however, that I usually wear almost all my vests in early spring and fall with a lightweight sweater. I believe a small would fit me if I just wore it over a long-sleeved tee shirt. I should add that I do wear the sweater/vest combo in the winter under a heavy coat. I think that this Columbia vest won't be too bulky to do that.The fleece is a nice heavier weight compared to some more budget-conscious fleeces. The aqua color is absolutely gorgeous and true to what is shown on most monitors. I can't wait to wear it with my turquois jewelry. The collar is tall when raised, which will be great on those crisp fall days when I want to wear a scarf. All the zippers work really well, pockets included. I should mention that the pockets are deep and wide enough to carry my cell and a few smaller items in just one pocket.As for styling, I also like that the sides of the vest aren't sewn slab straight but rather indent slightly, giving the illusion of a waist line. For those are you who are larger sizes, this indent for the waist is not so significant that it will look strained on you and perhaps will make it appear that you are not a larger size. I only suggest this and do not know it as a fact because I've not seen these Columbia vests on others.Overall, I am absolutely thrilled to know that Columbia makes great vests that fit well and are made to be worn over and over again. I am hard to please and have been looking for a long time for a well-fitting, nicely made vest. I like that it has a sturdy zipper, and the pocket zippers are an added feature. The pockets are warm and deep enough to keep your hands warm on those cold days.Some other brands of vests have seam binding sewn around the arm holes but not these. Columbia properly hems the arm holes in the same manner as they hem around the bottom edge. These are quality. The collar is thick, and I would have liked it half as thick but who knows, it might come in handy on those colder days. It washes up nicely leaving no wrinkles, so I hung it to dry. I would have preferred that the vest was a true dark black and not charcoal. Attached is my old vest and Columbia vest on top for a comparison.I am 5’7”, 135 lbs. The medium is perfect.
