I use it for crawl space access doors in hardwood and laminate floors and it works great for me. Looks good and it installs fast.

A solidly made latch. Has a great spring loaded handle which will stay up for grabbing then snap closed and sit flush. Rounded corners make it comfortable under foot for floor hatches like mine.

I bought this recessed handle for an outdoor bench that has some wheels on it to help move the (heavy) bench around. Overall it's a high quality product and looks great. The included screws however are tiny, too small to be of much use especially since the recess mortise you need to cut is about 1/2" and the screws are about this length- but this is typical of a lot of made in China hardware so I replaced them with some 1.5" stainless screws to secure the handle to my bench. I do not know how this will perform in an outdoor environment so I may update the review after a few months. Some reviews mention the handle is too small to get your hand in: I have small hands and can comfortably get 3 fingers in the handle (see photo) so didn't find this to be a problem. Also, installing this in a recess will require some skill with a plunge router or other tool that you can accurately cut a recess mortise with. Depending on your material this may be a bit challenging so I would rate the installation as moderate (there is no template included), not "Easy to Install" as the product information states. I would suggest the manufacturer include an accurate paper template for the required hole size.

Poor quality

I got this to install in a 2' x 2' hatch that covers a space in my basement. It was a little tricky to chisel out the space to fit this in, but I'm glad I did because it's a nice big handle that is comfortable to hold unlike some of the dinky little circular rings that you see elsewhere.

I have had these handles installed on my outdoor deck for exactly one week and they are already rusting. The description for this item clearly states "made of heavy duty zinc alloy with high hardness and good rust resistance". I've attached a picture showing the rust that has already started. What a waste of money. So tired of overpaying for sub-par merchandise...
