Defective item - don't purchase from this seller, if you want to avoid this problems in future
Received defective spray - no crackle effect,Just plain black. When I created the return it says courier will pick it up. When I created a second return after 1 week, seller has made a self ship return. Wow great way of fooling customers. I strongly, don't recommend this seller. This has caused a lot of inconvenience for me & waste of time & energy. Very bad & poor service from Amazon & seller.Amazon customer service is of no use, on top arguing

Ignored the Instructions, Came out Perfect!
I'm a leather artist who makes guitar straps, so my finishes all have to be flexible and can't peel or flake. I completely ignored the directions on the can and my leather came out perfect! When I purchased this, I couldn't even find a can of the Base coat, so I skipped it. I put a fairly thick coat of Gray acrylic leather paint down first, and did not let it dry for any more than the amount of time it took to take it outside. Then I sprayed the Montana Traffic Black Top coat right on top of the wet paint. I sprayed in the shade, then dragged my cardboard paint-drop into the sun (a blow dryer would have been my choice if there was no sun). My leather pieces crackled beautifully within about 30 seconds. It dried quickly, let it dry for maybe 10 minutes. I lightly brushed some paint dust off, sprayed it with a light coat of MSC, and finished it with a light rub-down with an acrylic finisher. It's perfect, very flexible, won't crack or peel, and I can use any color I want for the base coat. I'll try a couple of different base colors soon! Photo is of the leather strips when finished, edges have been beveled and dyed red.

This works sooooo well!!! Got instructions here that work
I was very sceptical after reading the reviews, but I saw a video on YouTube, and decided to give it a go. I was NOT disappointed!!!!!I’ve read the instructions on the can, they are basic at best. I did a test on a scrap of wood. It says lay thick costs of their paint, at east three layers-I used some old cans I had in my shed, can’t remember the brand-wait at least 45 mins but no longer than 24hrs. I did both to see what would happen.Basically, the longer you leave it, the bigger the flakes become. I did one with the paint still wet, and the flakes are so small you can hardly see it. I then waited 3hrs, and the flakes are bigger,-about 2mm- but where the paint is thinner(single coat) it didn’t work.So I decided to do theee coats, waiting 30 mins inbetween. Obviously the base coat I sanded down repeatedly until it was nice and smooth beforehand. I didn’t want the wood grain to show through. After the third coat, I waited 30 mins, then I gave it a nice wet coat all over, waited five minutes, and went to town with the black flake. It’s very different to normal spray paint, it feels very light, probably the best way I can describe it. So I coated it loads until my base colour didn’t show through anymore. In hindsight, I should have done it with more light, I did it in the evening, but the video said to do it when it’s cool and not in the sun. So…🤷🏻♂️And all of a sudden, it begins right in front of your eyes!! The video I watched said to blow on it where it doesn’t seem to happen, and that seems to speed up the process a bit where you are blowing. The end result is AMAZING!! Exactly what I wanted! I used a dark red underneath, but I now want to try it on other things with brighter colours!!Wear a mask and do it outdoors, it literally takes your breath away, my asthma did not like it!! They say leave it 24hrs before using so I will wait. Can’t wait till it dries so I can clear coat it and preserve it for good!!Photo 1 is my happy end result!Photo 2 is the wet paintPhoto 3 is the 3hrs on the end and the grey ish colour is 24hrs later.
