I have owned a Bose soundbar for several years. It had really good quality sound for music and dramatic effects, but not very good quality for dialogue. As my hearing quality has gone down I decided I needed to look at a soundbar that focused on speaking quality. The ZVOX soundbar is truly AMAZING! It was quick and easy to setup and then experiment with the various settings for what worked best. The result is a clarity of dialogue that surpasses all of my expectations. I do not have to turn up the volume and the clarity comes through so that I don't have to strain to understand what is being said. The other feature that I absolutely love is the sound leveling. With this on the commercials are now at the same volume as the TV shows. I also appreciate that the soundbar automatically turns on/off with the TV. This is a really amazing product and shows the company's focus on sound clarity. I strongly recommend the ZVOX soundbar for anyone who needs more clarity in the speaking on TV on streaming movies.

If you have difficulty hearing dialogue, this is the unit for you. This sound bar is by far the best on the market. Its special design highlights dialogue, and has multiple settings to establish the specific set up That’ll work for you. This is my second unit I’m completely thrilled with the performance and quality And highly recommend it. The unit is built well, easy to use, affordable and has an entire technical support staff that stands behind their product. I’ve tried several other sound bar brands and nothing… Nothing comes close. BRAVO!!

This worked beautifully right out of the box. Very simple hookup. I haven’t had to use my TV ears since. However, after just a couple months, I am getting sporadic ‘crackling’ sounds with voices- on live news and talk shows. I got a quick response from them, with some fixes to try with the cables, but it didn’t help. My husband moved it to the newer, bedroom tv, to see if it was any better there, and it really amplified the sound from that tv beautifully. He thinks it may be due to that tv having the optical cable. He moved it back to the Living room tv, and I found that it doesn’t crackle during my drama and action shows. So I will live with it, as it IS still better than having the TV ears, and maybe we’ll buy a newer tv this Xmas.

We've have had a terrific and expensive Denon surround sound system for many years. I love the richness of the sound. But, as we've grown older, it has become more difficult to understand the dialogue. Our solution has been to turn up the volume. I bought this sound bar hoping that it would improve listening to the dialogue and it does! When we received it I tried a simple experiment. We watched the first half hour of a high action movie, using the Denon system. I switched the optical audio cable to the new sound bar and we listened to the next forty-five minutes with the sound bar. Finally, we watched the last half hour after switching back to the Denon surround sound. Conclusion? We both recognized the much improved vocals on the sound bar and we both voted to keep it and replace the surround sound. Clearly, we don't have the same full, rich sound of the Denon system but also, just as clearly we appreciate now being able to turn down the volume while still understanding the dialogue. We really appreciate the multiple sound adjustments on this unit. We quickly learned that the volume/dialogue differs from TV show to TV show or from TV to streaming. The easy to use adjustments handle it all. We highly recommend this unit for anyone who is having difficulty understanding the dialogue coming from their TV.

First of all, I did like that this sound bar is very light weight and the sound is okay. I also was pleased to see that the instructions said set up was extremely easy. Not true. After I hooked it up, the sound didn't come on right away but I figured out quickly that I needed to change our LG TV sound settings from TV to optical digital. I then I used the video available on the app to help me match the ZVOX remote with our Roku remote. This was a little difficult because I had to watch the video 2 or 3 times to get the sequence down. Written instructions would have been so much easier. The next thing that happened was the sound would turn off during our program for no apparent reason. I'd turn it back on, but a few minutes later it would turn off again. I understand that there is a way to maybe fix this, but for sure I didn't want to try and memorize another video. The last straw for me was that when I tried to turn the TV off the power button didn't work. It only turned the speaker on and off. I tried to use the LG remote and its power button had also been hijacked so it only worked for the speaker. I finally had to unplug the speaker in order to use the power function for the TV. So at that point we decided that we were perfectly happy with the "Clear Voice" option on our LG TV and I returned the ZVOX to Amazon.

This sound bar is truly a game changer, not only for the person struggling to hear everything clearer on tv, but - just as important - saving the hearing of everyone else around you! This sound bar does a wonderful job of clearing out all of the unnecessary "background" noise in a program so that you can actually hear to voices. It also keeps the sound at one level, instead of up and down, with parts of a show/movie being very loud and other sections so quiet that you have to spend your time adjusting the volume. (It also helps to take those nasty commercials and keep the volume level on that too! ) Well worth the money - I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

I received the item fast. Awesome! Box was in tact but upon opening I saw the speaker grill was slightly bent and coming apart. Zooming in, you can see the inside of the speakers! I tried to push it back into place assuming minor defect, but it popped right back out. This feels more like the speaker has been taken apart (my suspicion). In testing the integrity of the unit, the speaker sounded great but it turned off three (3) times within first 45 minutes!!! That is NOT normal. I’ve owned many speakers and they’ve never turned off while watching TV. I connected via optical cable to my Samsung Neo QLED TV. This further strengthens my suspicion the speaker sent to me might have been refurbished. I returned the speaker... but do you ever get the sense returned products are just repackaged and resold “as new”? This is illegal but experiences like this sure makes one wonder… I will contact Amazon to report this, as I don’t believe the automated return system is being monitored for this kind of seller activity, though I could be wrong (shrug). This was my experience, Truth Unfiltered.

Wow were we amazed, got this for my mom who is 80 and she was so happy that she can now watch Yellowstone and actually hear what they are saying. This thing works great to bring out the voice clarity, has several different levels to single out the voices with great volume. The remote is easy to use and smart on the company for using big font on the remote, my mom could see it without her glasses just fine. This speaker will surprise you, if you have someone in your family who is hard of hearing, this is for them. They will be amazed at how well this works. I have several top brand sound bars in my house and when I hooked this up for my mom, we were both amazed as I actually have trouble with hearing the dialogue while watching Yellowstone as well. No problem when listening to this speaker bar - clear as any other show.
