The LED's do produce heat, and the tabs stayed stuck only for a short time after the lights heated up, at which point the lights came unattached. And this was even though we followed the instructions meticulously to clean the mating surface and then wipe it with the alcohol swabs included. We wanted to keep and use the lights so we ended up devising our own system to secure them to the fixture using monofilament fishing line. So far so good! I love them! on the brightest setting they illuminate my dinette completely. I added an inline dimmer switch, that has 10 steps between low and high. It worked very well to turn these lights down to a more friendly level. I could have gotten the less bright lights, but then I didn't want to be worried about not having enough light. Go big or go home, right? So under normal use, I do turn these down quite a bit.
