The ultimate key finder
I bought this fob because I am always misplacing my keys. I can't count how many times I have spend 10 minutes or more looking around the house for my keys. Invariably, I can't find my keys when I am on the tightest deadline! This fob has actually saved me quite of bit of time that I would have spent looking for my keys. More importantly I've avoided a lot of frustration. Good: 1. It has worked wonderfully for locating my keys. I just open the app, sound the alarm, and follow the beeping to my keys. My kids love to help me find my keys now! I don't panic when my keys aren't where they are supposed to be. Everyone is happier. 2. I haven't noticed any drain on my phone battery. 3. It has always worked as long as the fob hasn't been turned off (more on that later). 4. Range is good. It has not had any problems locating the keys upstairs, when I am downstairs at the other end of the house. 5. The fob is fairly small. Doesn't add much to my keys. It is black and doesn't draw attention. (see my picture) 6. The battery is easily replaceable with a cheap CR2032 button battery 7. Still going strong after 3 months. Bad: I did once turn off the fob by accident. If the button is pressed and held, the fob will turn off. However, it will make a sound notifiying you that it has turned off. The first time, I didn't realize that is what happened. Now I know and I can just turn it back on. That only has happened once, in the three months I have been using it. Ugly: None Summary: A reliable way to find your keys with your phone. Disclaimer: I use this fob ONLY for locating my keys. I don't use the phone tethering/alarm or to locate my phone. I can always call my iPhone (or ping it with Find my iPhone) and I don't necessarily want my keys and phone to always be together. I disabled all features other than locating the fob .

Very bad app
The app does not stay running making this device useless. I really wanted to like the product and its a great idea. It just doesn't work right in practice, because the app developers are not able to stop android killing the app. I think they know about this because the app tells you to "check back often". Still this is the best solution I have found for a bluetooth fob and it seems very well developed and professional. The android app just needs some work. You have to make sure its still running after playing i.e. a heavy game. Another thing that bothers me is the phone and the fob lose connection frequently, even if they are inches apart. Losing connection causes the alarm to sound, It is very annoying.

Currently Tracking 12 Devices, finally weighing in
First started using these Proximo trackers in 2013 to help me (1) locate lost keys and (2) give me some indication whether a set of keys was in my proximity. In the first case - I've located lost keys a handful of times using Proximo. In every instance it's been a lifesaver. In the second instance, I can - for example - be on the road out to pick up my motorcycle trailer and, with a glance at the App, I can rest assured that I have the key to the storage unit somewhere in the car (if I'm on the freeway and the App says there's a signal to the storage unit key, it's with me - versus me pulling over and having to physically locate and eye-ball the key to ensure the trip won't be fruitless). For the foregoing, you have to keep up with the devices, check in occasionally to ensure batteries aren't low, and keep a bunch of 2032 spare batteries handy to replace low batteries. In exchange for that nominal effort, you get peace of mind. Forget about using the "proximity" alarm feature, it's too buggy and you'll ultimately be unsatisfied and might even write a bad review here (plenty of those). However, to locate a lost key or to determine whether a set of keys is within 20 feet of you, then these devices and the corresponding iPhone App are lifesavers!! Just finished changing out some low batteries and realized that I was now tracking 12 devices (motorcycle keys etc), thought I'd log in here and give my positive feedback to help people looking for solutions to the issues raised here. I've tried many competing devices, even in the last 6 months when I thought the devices weren't working with my upgraded iPhone 6 Plus (I was wrong), and have found nothing that can compete with these trackers.

Unreliable
Pro: Decent form factor Fairly loud Cons: Doesn't automatically reconnect to my phone I bought one of these and an Elgato Smart Key to test against each other. I want two total devices, one so I can find the $400 key to my car (or my phone), and one to notify me whenever my phone loses connection with my son's car seat. I always check my back seat when I get to work, but redundant precautions are good for everyone. It was a stroke of luck that I tried the Elgato on the car seat first, because the Kensington is very unreliable. It doesn't seem to automatically reconnect to my phone, making its last seen and find features completely useless. I really don't know how this product made it to market. It does make a better keychain than the other device, and is louder, but those things don't matter if its basic functions are faulty. I returned the item after only a couple weeks.
