Mine use it for a potty box as well as a sand bath **Q: Approximately how long would one bag of this last a dwarf hamster, being cleaned regularly?** A: So far I have used one entire bag for my three robo hamsters in one large aquarium (used in combination with a large container) for three weeks. I clean the sand regularly with a hermit crab poop shovel (it’s just what I have handy since we have hermit crabs also) and the sand is still pretty clean! I clean the sand once a day or once every other day. It clumps urine very well, I’m very impressed to be honest. My dwarf hamsters love their little sand box/cave and have made a portion of it their urine area, and a portion of it for their bathing needs. I suspect that I will need to replace completely in roughly two months, totaling it for a use of three months. Keep in mind that I do have three dwarf hamsters in the habitat and clean it regularly. For your purposes, since I’m assuming that you have one, I would imagine the use you would get out of it is much longer in duration.
