## Description

Helps to reduce hearing problems and ear discomfort due to water clogged ears.

Review: Works great and hard to find - I have been using Swim Ear for years and love it! This is an essential part of my bathroom supplies and travel bag. Sure, you can make a similar solution by mixing isopropyl alcohol (diluted with water) but that is not always convenient. TO HELP YOU: I added two pictures (front and back of the bottle) since the product picture does not give you an idea of how big the bottle is nor are the ingredients listed in the description on the desertcart page. MY STORY: I grew up with a pool and a lake in my backyard. Water would always be left in my ears after swimming and having one of these bottles was a lifesaver as a kid...especially since I seemed prone to ear infections if I didn't use it. The last thing my parents probably wanted was me mixing supplies together under the bathroom counter. When I went off to college, I continue to do water sports and you can't exactly carry a bottle of isopropyl alcohol inside of a kayak. I could carry this container and squirt a little bit if I got completely clogged up. Sure, I could have easily bought a plastic bottle and made my own solution but these containers aren't terribly expensive and it's already done for me. Nowadays, I am not in the water as much but I did have a problem with an ear after having hung out in a pool. I walked around for a day or so feeling very odd, the isopropyl alcohol helped relieve the discomfort, but the Swim Ear did the complete trick! I couldn't find any nearby drug or convenience store with it so I went straight to desertcart which, of course, had it. OVERALL: If you're on the edge about buying the bottle, do it. It always clears up my ears very quickly.
Review: Prevents Ear Infections After Swimming in Open Water - It's a basic product, but prevents ear infections after swimming in lakes and rivers. A few drops in each ear after swimming disinfects and dries the ear canal to prevent ear infections. I have been swimming in a reservoir training for a triathlon, and wouldn't want to swim without it. I have used this product or for years of swimming in lakes, ponds, and rivers. Without it would get an infection (swimmer's ear) a couple of times a year. Never got an ear infection when I used it. Very good preventive medicine.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: can i use 95% rubbing alcohol?**
A: Per my doctor's instruction: use 50/50% mix of isopropyl alcohol and white vinegar (5% acidic) to rinse outer ears after swimming, showering, etc. The alcohol will displace water and the vinegar has antimicrobial properties to prevent infection. He specifically said not to use Hydrogen Peroxide in the solution, as that can cause water to be retained in the ear canal. This solution is extremely affordable and effective. I keep it on the boat, in with my scuba gear bag, in the bathroom - wherever I might get water in my ears, and have used it extensively over time with great results.

**Q: what is expiry date please?**
A: There is always an expiration date on the bottle. Seems like it was about 18 months from when I received it.

**Q: Is this safe?**
A: I have been using this product for the past 25 years. It is safe and it helps you to avoid the painful swimmer's ear.

**Q: Approximately how many applications can you get out of a 1 oz bottle? thanks**
A: It depends if you are talking about one ear or two. I often swim with headphones so no water gets in my ears. When I swim without them, I usually need a couple of drops in each ear. I’d say that you have 30-40 applications for 2 ears easily. Rite Aid also has a product that I find works well - they are both essentially alcohol.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cap stays sealed
*by J***S on August 20, 2024*

Screw on cap stays sealed. Many competing products have a non-screw on cap that can pop off and leak in your bag. Also, this stuff works for me in humid weather. I never get an ear infection living in a dry place, but I spend 6 weeks a year in a humid place and *always* get an ear infection, every year. This year I put 4 drops of this in my ears after a daily shower and no ear infection.
