SAT, ACT, and PSAT Digital Timer and Watch for Exam Pacing

The Top Score Watch does exactly what it is made to do. I haven't found any other watch that is allowed on the SAT and has this functionality. I wish I had come up with this product! I'm a full time SAT tutor and take the SAT once per year to stay up to date. I used this watch on the most recent exam and it was very helpful in staying on track and pacing myself. Nothing fancy here, but it works as advertised! It makes no noise whatsoever and has the correct timing for each section. My favorite feature is the graphical representation of how much time has passed. A circle fills in as time progresses and gives a visual cue as to what passage you should be working on in order to finish in time. The look of the watch is not bad either!

We purchased this watch in October for the December SAT test. My daughter used it, and it worked well. The watch was stored safely in a kitchen drawer until last night, when we pulled it out for her SAT the next day. The watch was working and left on the counter for the night; however, this morning the watch's digital image was 3/4 missing (see photo). We tried several things, but the watch would not reset or work. Very, very disappointing to pay almost $40 for a one-time use watch. I would NOT recommend this product, as it left my daughter high and dry on the morning of her SAT.

Great watch! It’s simplicity (and silence for testing purposes) was just what my daughter needed for her ACT. She gave it very high marks and said it helped her manage her time greatly during each segment of the test. The piece of mind it gave her, and the resulting boost in confidence, was well worth the price. I highly recommend this for any student planning to take the ACT or SAT.

Bought this watch in September to help with ACT/SAT test time management. Wasn’t cheap, cost $65. The plastic band broke before my daughter even took the test in October, and by the time the actual ACT test came around, the digital display wasn’t working. The protective plastic is still on it! Unable to return to Amazon because the 30 day return policy was up! For any parent trying to help their child study and prepare for these tests, DO NOT waste your money on something like this. Time constraints are one of the biggest stressors for students and this type of product seemed like it would be helpful, but save your money and stick with a cheap drug store digital watch. The user guide insert was worthless and had no warranty information. It actually said, “Top Score Watch, LLC will not be liable for the failure of the product to operate properly”! Seriously?

Essential for high school students. This watch works for the SAT/PSAT and SAT subjects tests and the ACT exam. Very easy to use and toggle between modes/sections. I tutor high school students on standardized tests and highly recommend this watch for taking practice exams and for using on test day to improve pacing and increase familiarity with the different exams.

We bought my daughter a similar watch last year for her ACT, but we were disappointed when she realized she could not use it for the SAT because the section times are different. We were so happy to have found this watch for my son this year, which works with every exam without the need for any other product. The schools he is applying to all require different tests, so he has been pretty stressed this year. During these standardized exams, he can get so focused on a single problem that he often struggles to finish. This watch has helped keep him on track and improve his pacing. Personally, I think standardized exams are a terrible way to measure students, but as parents, we want our children to do the best they can within the present system. I would highly recommend this product for students who are feeling testing anxiety because it helps alleviate some of the pressure and keeps them focused. One less thing to worry about on test day!

Just beware -- a student of mine recently ordered two in a row, both of which stopped working shortly after delivery -- screen froze. I like the features, and the fact that it times both ACT and SAT, but I may go back to recommending the Testing Timers/Sandusky Lee (same basic watch) for ACT since I had never experienced this before TopScore came out. The last thing a student who has come to rely on a watch needs is for it to fail mid-test.

Upon FIRST time use, my son set up this watch the night before the ACT exam, walked into the ACT exam and the digital screen malfunctioned immediately prior to the exam and the screen only displayed half of the display, thereby rendering the watch completely ineffective for the exam. Additionally, it is impossible to unscrew the back plate of the watch to access the inside of the watch, as I was hopeful to see if I could take out the battery and see if it could be reset upon possible battery removal, yet it is impossible to remove the back plate of the watch. It does not seem to be a battery issue but an issue with the motherboard circuitry of the watch. Unfortunately, the watch was useless to him for his ACT exam. It seems many have reported the same issue. Do NOT recommend purchase. Shameful!
