Will a 3 inch thick binder fit in this?

Arthur, In order to answer your question accurately, I had to put the bag to the test. Yes, a 3" thick full binder fits if you expand the bag and put the binder spine up. It fits even when I have in the laptop compartment all the following devices: 17.3" Asus ROG laptop, 13" Mac laptop and a large iPad. In addition, I have all the chargers and for these devices plus my iPhone and its charger in the front pocket. There is also second zippered front pocket with mesh pockets inside that can be used for other items. This is my truthful feedback concerning only the size of the bag. Will the main laptop compartment fit an an acer helios 300 predator laptop?

Since I do not know the measurement of your computer, I can only say that it fits my Asus ROG 17.3 laptop. Additionally, when I put my laptop inside a SOHO 17.3 sleeve and then put that sleeve-containing the ASUS ROG 17.3 inside this BAGSMART bag right next to the built in computer sleeve, it still fits. And, even with all that, I put a half inch thick foam in the inside bottom of the BAGSMART as an added protection for laptop in the sleeve, it still fits!

Does it have velcro straps to hold down the laptop?
