Great Little Adapters
I love these little adapters. They have a 1/4"-20 female thread on the bottom to attach it to a stand or clamp stud. They hold a small LED light or action camera perfectly. They tilt fore and aft, but not side to side. They can be attached to a shoe on a camera or rig via the foot as well. The tilt tension can be adjusted depending on the weight of what you've attached to it. They are small and lightweight, but are made of metal and feel solid. They have a manufacturer's load capacity of up to 250 grams. I have two and will be getting more.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tiny but Mighty — Perfect for Multi-Camera Setups
I picked up the SmallRig 1/4″ Mini Head Cold Shoe to add more mounting flexibility to my camera rig, and it’s been an excellent little accessory. The build quality is exactly what you’d expect from SmallRig—solid metal construction, clean finish, and no play once everything is tightened down. The 1/4″ thread fits perfectly on my cage and accessories, and once locked in, it stays firmly in place. I’m currently using this mini head along with other mounting accessories to place an Osmo Pocket 3 on top of my Canon R7. This setup lets me record smooth video footage while I’m simultaneously taking photos, and it has worked surprisingly well. Even with the extra gear mounted, the cold shoe head holds steady and doesn’t shift during use. What I really appreciate is how compact it is. It adds functionality without adding bulk, which is important when building a clean, balanced rig. It’s also quick to install and easy to adjust, making it ideal for run-and-gun video work. Overall, this SmallRig mini cold shoe head is small, strong, and extremely useful—especially if you’re running a hybrid photo/video setup. Definitely a great addition to any camera rig.

Mount one camera to another
I have used this in the field to attach a GoPro or Osmo Pocket to a camcorder or still camera, and it also works for a box camera as well. It's meant for lightweight devices, and that's how I use it, and from there the sky's the limit.

Great little cold shoe adapter
First off, "ball head" is a misnomer, which is pretty clear just by looking at it...but "mini" is not! The description is accurate in that it only tilts...it does not swivel. But it's about perfect for a small, quick connection for cold shoes. As nice as it is to have the extra durability of all-aluminum, it would actually be nice if the bottom knob were plastic (or had rubber inset on the bottom) so it clamps down better onto the rim of a metal cold shoe.

its not great quality and IS NOT TIGHT AS IT SHOULD BE FOR YOUR CAMERA ACCESSORIES.
Don't even worry about the cold shoe. The cold shoe is not even that great it says that supposedly comes pretty firm and it comes very strong on the matter of tighten up the screws right. But it's not true. It keeps drifting while I keep putting my lights or any other type of things that have to be adapted to the cold shoe could be an adapter for a phone or could be an adapter for a cage for a action camera still keeps coming off still keeps drifting. It doesn't tie up correctly. I do strongly agree that it is lightweight but anything else it's not that great. It's not this does not deserve a five star. It deserves three stars because when I was turn it up the rubber it came out immediately so this is not great product. I don't know why it's too expensive for is capabilities, but I completely disagree on giving a five star. This is the reason why I provided three stars is not sturdy. It keeps coming off and the rubber came out immediately as well. It drift all the time as well my accessories keep coming off. I'm falling during my filming or my photography so I don't recommend this product.

works for my use-case
i use this on a selfie-type stick for my streaming setup w a light connected to it to use my phone as a webcam docked at my desktop on a mini tripod; it holds well, but doesn't screw /all/ the way and the light (which weighs v little) sags because of this tightening issue. i think i'm doing something wrong that i'll figure out, so im likely going to come back and give it one more star (to 5) once i figure it out; likely will take pliers to the screw and it'll tighten appropriately. actually i'll give it five stars, just know it was initially at 4, which should speak for itself.

Works as advertised
Perfect for hanging a DSLR to a holder for a GoPro or Phone. I’m able to hang a Nikon D3400 to a sun visor holder for my GoPro so it has dual functionality

Upgraded my original rating to 5/5 because it's proven so useful. It goes on an iPhone video rig, and an iPhone DSLR style camera grip. Also used it a couple of times with GoPros. It's a solidly made piece that stays where you put it and it does the job, without being fiddly or taking up unnecessary space. Nice.
