Large Air stone
The air stone I received did not look like the one in the picture. Instead, it looked almost exactly like this: Hydrofarm ASCL Large Active Aqua Air Stone Cylinder , which I ordered for comparison. The only difference was that the sealant used to secure the fitting was more like cement rather than rubber sealant. The other product is also a dollar cheaper. However, because they are so similar they probably will be similarly good. Update: Be sure to have a powerful pump to use this air-stone to full effect. Something rated for up to 20 gallons is too little; bubbles will only come out of the top where the fitting enters the stone. Added a star because it works fine with a 7.8L/min pump.

It's big and it works. Don't panic.
As I write this review on a product I received 3 days ago and again today (purchased a 2nd one), I see that it suddenly went up in price by about 30%. I don't approve, so I subtracted a star. It's a great product at a decent price. With respect to some reviewers having a fit because they think it leaks around the top, um, no... it doesn't. Two things. First is the ol' path of least resistance deal, which is where the airline enters, so if you have an underpowered pump, it's going to just trickle out there. From playing with this product and various pumps, I'd recommend at least a 2W pump to drive it properly (I mean, really, it's the size of a V8 can-- give it some love). Secondly, the flow of bubbles becomes more uniform as the stone sits and saturates with water. After about half an hour the bubbles were distributing nicely. So, this guy sounds like he likes this product, so why the 3 stars? I think people overrate or underrate products on Amazon (and movie review sites for that matter). They tend to treat a five point scale like a 2 point scale. Either they're pissed and give it a 1 (with "OMG, why oh why can't I give it a zero?!") or they're satisfied and it's a 5. One star subtracted for the fact that it can be had for cheaper (but Prime free shipping largely offsets that for me) and one star subtracted for their sudden jump in price (just rude). Okay, I would give it 3.5 stars, which would be a 7 out of 10, but it's not a 10 point scale now is it? One final note. It's big! I mean, people should be comfortable with the size of their airstone, and they say that it's not the size of your airstone but how you use it. I think most of us realize that this is a rumor perpetuated by guys with small airstones though.

Fit air pump, works great, will buy again
I bought 2 air stones for my hydroponic system and this does an amazing job of getting oxygen into the water. We've had this on non-stop for over a month now and no issues and no degradation. It's inexpensive and gets the job done. It fit my air pump perfectly. I highly recommend and when I need more I'm going to buy this exact one again.

My Oscars love it.
Edit: It's been a year and it still puts out the same enormous amount of bubbles. Very Highly Recommended. Original Review: My favorite bubble stone so far. It puts out a huge amount of bubbles and my Oscars love swimming through the bubble stream. It must feel good. It's been bubbling steadily for a couple of months now and I haven't noticed a decrease in the amount of bubbles like I did with my previous stones and wands, so I'm pretty pleased. It's kind of hard to hide in the tank since it is so large (about the diameter of a RedBull can), but that's about the only downside. It doesn't float, and it's heavy enough that my Oscars haven't been able to moved it around like smaller stones. I'll buy another one if this one ever quits on me. Highly recommended.

Works fine, but . . . .
Out of 3 stones that I bought, one bubbles only around the fitting. The other two bubble from the full stone. It seems like some kind of sealer got on the stone that doesn't work. The ones that work are great, strong bubblers (is that a word?) and really aerate the water. Made my Koi happy. Used these to replace the small stones that came with my PondAir 4 Air Stone System, which I highly recommend.

Very good air stone for large tanks and for deep water culture grows
Very large stones amazing for dwc grows or for a large fish tank they produce a lot of bubbles and keep the water well oxygenated be sure to wash them off very well though as with any fish equipment highly reccomended

as my other mini-air stones I ordered through Amazon (which are 1/10th the size of this large air stone) are functioning much be
I just used this Air stone for the first time in my compost team and it is barely functioning. I am not sure if this is a defective, as my other mini-air stones I ordered through Amazon (which are 1/10th the size of this large air stone) are functioning much better. I have tried to check for a leak in the pipe but it seems alright. I will give it one more try and will come back with an update.
