I bought this a year ago for a 4x4 trip through Montana, and brought it to another 4x4 trip into Mexico. (I did have pepper spray confiscated on a previous trip into Mexico, so beware, it is illegal there for civilian use) I tested it before leaving the USA with a super short burst and it seemed to work perfectly. I never sprayed it again until over a year later. I carry it on my ebike in case of dogs or violent people, and had a wacko dude come at me last night. I warned him to stop coming towards me but he didn't, so I hosed him down. He retreated, shrieking. WORKS GREAT as a first line of defense. Glad I didn't have to use my second line, and trust me, so is the wacko dude because he is still alive.

I havent had a need to use it, but it makes me feel like i can take on an army. i do take it everywhere as a form of self defense lol. Its nice quality, and does say how to use it.

Definitely a must ,works well. Highly recommended.

This is powerful stuff, and is very effective for repelling oversized Iguanas. After applying in the direction of the beast, it caused it to turn tail and run, saving our old butts from being it's next meal. Light weight and fits well in carry bags. You should have seen that monster run, tucked tail and hauled ass. I'd recommend this spry to all who have the nerve to traverse the swamps and back woods.

I bought this because I like camping and there are black bears where I like to camp. I like that this product comes with a carrying case with a loop to be able to attach it to my backpack or belt loop. The carrying case is snug, so it definitely won't fall out, but I would practice with a few times so you know how to get it out in an emergency. The can is also small enough to fit into the side pocket of an 18L day backpack, which is convenient. I also really appreciate that it has a reusable plastic lock on the top that you just flick off with your thumb to use, and then you rinse off the bottle and put the plastic back on (you know, if you still have it after spraying at a bear and leaving the area). It's priced competitively compared to big outdoor stores, but I do wish the price was lower in general, hence the 4 stars. I hope I never have to use this, but it's a nice contingency to have.

Very good quality although great range

Received Sept 2023 and expiration date on canister is Aug 2026. Three -years. Like the 2% and fog. Fog is far more "effective" than stream or jell. Fog gets in face while the other two get on the clothes and that does nothing to stop the aggressor. Hard to miss the target with fog. Keep in mind that the target is likely to be moving swiftly toward you and will clearly be "hard" to hit with stream that only lasts 3-5 seconds. Big fog sprayers lasts at least 10-seconds. I've given a 7.9 oz to my daughter [age 40], keep one in garage, two in house, and keep one in each of my two cars. If you are serious about defending yourself with a non-lethal product that is "quick at hand" this product is for you. The 9 oz [which I have] is too unwieldly for my wife and daughter. Never used product to date but will soon "practice" with a 7.9 oz that expired recently. Especially want to see how far the spray goes.

I actually had to use this on a blackberry in my backyard. The wind changed and got us both. Neither myself or the bear were particularly pleased with the events. The bear left my property and didn't come back for about 4 weeks. I took a spicy shower and cried and laughed because it hurt so bad. 10 of 10 recommend. Also...really useful for clearing your sinuses.
