It grips tightly and pulls them out cleanly! Really great tool to invest in. I wear mens size large gloves, but find that the span on the pliers is a bit wide for rapid work.I thought it was a reach to spend $35 on a little pair of fish bone salmon pliers, but I thought I should stop using the Craftsman mini pliers with guests around. At this price for small pliers it should have bought me a quality product to last a lifetime, but I've had steel tools last on a salt water boat longer without rusting.
