This is just a basic wire stripper for the size wires noted. I've used it a couple of times so far with no issues.

Tried the expensive ones, they made a coil cut really difficult to keep them straight and length slicer was inconsistent, This one always cut straight around and knife point at end slices the wire sheath well. We use it for stranded marine wire 8awg to 2-0 it is difficult not to cut some of the strands but that is always an issue w any tool.

Older model I had for years from a different manufacturer simply wore out. A real plus with this one is the variable size wire retaining notches to keep the wire from slipping out of the insulation cutter, and it seems well made at a reasonable price.

Does the job well, however make sure you are stocked up on Band-Aids and antibiotic ointment before you start using this thing. It is surprisingly easy to give yourself really bad cuts. Don't just grab it out of a bag for example and be really careful when you go use the lengthwise cutter to remove the strip of insulation after you've scored it. I can't believe how many times I've cut myself knowing all of this. If somebody would do a little basic additional CAD design to improve safety that would be great. It gives you deep cuts that hurt for days. As far as functional improvements, there really ought to be an in-between size between the large size and the medium size. 3.5/5

Great tool , easy to use and safe , works for most size of cables , I’m using from #10 to 600kmci and works great . It is one of my favorite tools, and I always carry it with me.ONLY 1 spare blade and the description say 2

Excellent, even if there was no instruction booklet... which could have made setup for wire size much easier. Turns out the allen wrench supplied with and mounted on the stripper allows for quick, precise adjsutment of the depth of the blade cut. Adjust it for each size wire you are stripping and this becomes a surperb tool. Prior to figuring it out, the were lots of blue words in the air and several attmepts at stripping both 8 and 4AWG wire that had me cutting nearly half way through the wire itself. After, I stripped 8 sets of cables in a few minnutes without a nick on a single strand of wire. Careful, the blades are sharp! All-in-all, it's a real value.

So far I have been using this to strip solar cables and it works great. My cables are 10 gauge and the sharp blade cuts through the insulation in 3 turns without knicking the conductors. It comes with extra blades so I am all set if the preinstalled blade should ever become dull. Very happy with my purchase.

I purchased this wire stripper and initially it seemed like a good tool. However, the cutting blade lost its edge in some areas after stripping fewer than six wires. I would like to know if replacement blades are available. If there are no replacements, I would not recommend this product, as it would essentially be a single-use tool." Works quite well on thick insulation, just don’t cut too deep.
