On my monitor, this "bright red" looks more like the terra cotta color I'm actually looking for... What does it look like directly to human eyes?

I had to pull my skein out to take a look under better lighting. I tried a couple different kinds of light, and it looks different depending. I always thought it was 'Redcoat' red, but you're right, it does have a whisper of rust to it. I would describe it as 'madder' red. Madder is an old-timey dye for wool broadcloth. I hope that helps. I'm now questioning my sense of color.

The best yarn for felting your projects

I bought this to make a pair of felted slippers for my niece. I was really surprised to find that it felted just in the washing! Will definitely seek out for my next felted project.

Bought this for a felting project as the pattern used this make, I will add pitures once I've put it through the wash and it has shrunk to the correct diamentions but I like it so far.
