Item arrived on time and was in protective packaging. Put in batteries and it operates as expected!

I just bought something I hope I never have to use. But isn’t that what insurance is all about? This Nautilus GPS emergency beacon is something I will never do without on an open dive, especially in tidal waters. I also recommend it for surfers, paddlers, kayakers, and strong swimmers who think they can beat a rip current. What happens if they can’t? They activate their GPS beacon. Order 2 CR123A photo batteries when you buy this. It comes without batteries.

This is not the most coherently written review, but I don’t feel like editing at the moment. This is a must for diving. The o-seals are not the most robust. It should have a double oring and it doesn’t. They use a weird gasket. That said, if it doesn’t flood and you do drift off, it could save your life. Programming to a ship’s MMSI is a bit of a trick the first time. You program an app on your phone with the MMSI. You put the transmitter in program mode. Then you aim the phones light at the center of the antenna holder. A series of flashes programs the MMSI into the transmitter. You need to deploy the antenna to do this. You then re roll the antenna with the tool that is provided. I dislike the tool. It’s small and easy to misplace. There is no simple place to store it. They should design the antenna so it doesn’t need a tool for deployment.

Right now I am giving it a 1 star because I can't use it. The app you need to set your region is not showing in my play store and it shows not available when I click their link from the Wed. I have a Z fold 5 and am in puerto rico. There should be no issue with my phone. I do know that pr has some wed restrictions so i will look into that today. I will change my review if things change. I dive tomorrow and was really looking forward to test this thing out with the captain.

Espero no usarlo, se be de muy Alta Calidad, lo configuré fácilmente, encuentra rápido la señal de los satélites.

Narrensichere Rettungs-Beacon, die mit exakter GPS-Position um Hilfe ruft, solle beim Tauchen mal was mächtig schiefgehen - und man an die Oberfläche kommt... und das Boot ist ist weit und breit nicht zu sehen. Auf Knopfdruck sendet das Teil dann, wo genau man im Wasser treibt, so dass jeder, der Signal und Position empfängt, zur Hilfe oder Rettung kommen kann. Kein Taucher sollte ohne sein...

APPAREIL NON ÉTANCHE !!! Je vais demander une reprise de l'appareil et l'envoi d'un autre, selon mes droits.

Have been diving with it in my bcd, No leaks and seem strong enough to take the knocks of being in my pocket, hopefully I'll never need it but gives you peace of mind knowing it's there.
