This Blu-ray set includes The Godfather, The Godfather: Part II and Mario Puzo's THE GODFATHER, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone. Plus special features. Francis Ford Coppola's master adaptation of Mario Puzo's novel chronicles the dramatic, and often violent, rise and fall of the Corleone family. Collected here on Blu-ray for the first time is Coppola and Puzo's definitve, intended version of The Godfather saga in three distinct motion picture events: the Best Picture Oscar(r) winners THE GODFATHER and THE GODFATHER PART II, and the acclaimed THE GODFATHER CODA: THE DEATH OF MICHAEL CORLEONE. It's not just essential cinema ... this is an offer you can't refuse. THE GODFATHER Regarded as one of the best American films ever by the American Film Institute, Francis Ford Coppola's epic masterpiece features Marlon Brando in his Oscar(r)-winning* role as the patriarch of the Corleone family. The Godfather(tm) is a violent and chilling portrait of the Sicilian family's struggle to stay in power in a post-war America of corruption, deceit and betrayal. Coppola begins his legendary trilogy, masterfully balancing the story of the Corleone's family life and the ugly crime business in which they are engaged. Based on Mario Puzo's best-selling novel and featuring career-making performances by Al Pacino, James Caan and Robert Duvall, this searing and brilliant film garnered ten Academy Award(r) nominations, and won three including Best Picture of 1972. THE GODFATHER PART II In what is undeniably one of the best sequels ever made, Francis Ford Coppola continues his epic Godfather trilogy with this saga of two generations of power within the Corleone family. Coppola, working once again with the author Mario Puzo, crafts two interwoven stories that work as both prequel and sequel to the original. One shows the humble Sicilian beginnings and New York rise of a young Don Vito, now played in an Oscar(r)-winning* performance for Best Supporting Actor by Robert De Niro. The other shows the ascent of Michael (Al Pacino) as the new Don. Reassembling many of the cast members who helped make The Godfather(tm), Coppola has produced a movie of staggering magnitude and vision; the film received eleven Academy Awards(r) nominations, winning six including Best Picture of 1974. MARIO PUZO'S THE GODFATHER CODA: THE DEATH OF MICHAEL CORLEONE Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of The Godfather: Part III, director/screenwriter Francis Ford Coppola brings a definitive new edit and restoration of the final film in his epic Godfather trilogy - Mario Puzo's THE GODFATHER Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone. Michael Corleone (Al Pacino), now in his 60s, seeks to free his family from crime and find a suitable successor to his empire. That successor could be fiery Vincent (Andy Garcia)... but he may also be the spark that turns Michael's hope of business legitimacy into an inferno of mob violence. The film's meticulously restored picture and sound, under the supervision of American Zoetrope and Paramount Pictures, includes a new beginning and ending, as well as changes to scenes, shots, and music cues. The resulting project reflects author Mario Puzo and Coppola's original intentions of The Godfather: Part III, and delivers, in the words of Coppola,"a more appropriate conclusion to The Godfather and The Godfather: Part II." Review: Get it already - If you call yourself a Cinefile or even have a passing interest in movies then The Godfather Trilogy is essential viewing, ok maybe not the third movie so much but definitely the first two. Even better on 4k. Review: Classic film, definitely a Top 10 ever 👍 - It's the Godfather 🤙. Won't go into the story most know it,if not get the film. I'd seen it often do decided to just get the " remastered" blu ray. I buy a LOT of films anyway. My 4k player upscales well. Also this has a great picture and the Blu-ray has Dolby Atmos sound I very much doubt the 4k would have much of a better picture, after all it's a 50 ish year old film. Probably half the cost of 4k but still with great sound and picture. Probably get " The pianist" on 4K when it comes out soon or something I haven't seen 10 times Love this film but this version was perfect for me , brother even thought it was 4k 😉🤔

They don't make them like this anymore
I had never watched any of these prior to purchasing. It's a bit of a marathon but if your attention span hasn't been ruined by smartphones and the internet, it's worth the investment. 1 & 2 are must-sees

A classic, and all three films too. Good value and quality - a must for any film lover.

Final last minutes cut.
Bought to replace an older copy of the three films. Not sure why but this set cuts a couple of minutes off the Godfather III ending. It shows the Don sitting outside in his chair but cuts the last minutes which showed him falling to the ground, apparently dead. Other than that it's one of those films which can be watched again and again.

El Padrino
Gran película, que se recomienda sola. El paquete tiene un plus adicional, el DVD con los extras. Compré además el libro. Ambas compras me dejaron más que satisfecha.

Great watch.
Great watch. I remember my mum seeing GF1 when released in the 1970s. It's still good on the eye and a good story. Not for the more sensitive audience.

Godfather trilogy in BluRay
It's the Godfather and Godfather II, that I bought it for, Godfather III was a bonus for me. The first two are SOOOOOOO powerful and SOOOOOOOO immersive into a better time. If I could go higher that 5 STARS, I would. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!
