I read a lot of reviews so I was a little reluctant on the purchase of this king sized white headboard. However, I am 100% satisfied with the product so I thought I would share my experience. Shipping was faster than anticipated and thankfully no damage done in the process. All parts included and as described, as noted in other reviews no stickers explaining what was what but that was completely ok by me as it was very easy for me to figure out. This was much easier to put together than I thought it would be. It was also build a lot more sturdy and intuitively than others described. I do not think it will fall apart in the future and it could be disassembled if totally necessary. I do not own the matching bed frame that must be purchased separately. I have a homemade 3 drawer shelving unit with a piece of plywood holding up my king sized mattress. It's the purple mattress (don't recommend it but stuck with it) no box spring, sits a bit lower than most beds. This headboard was the perfect height for my situation, I could see others saying its a bit short but my biggest fear, the front board behind the pillow line was safe, it is long enough to keep pillows from falling through the back. That would have ticked me off and I would have had to add some white board below to remedy the prob. The shelfs are slightly weird for the size items I want to store but I am satisfied with them regardless as I have wanted shelfs behind the bed for YEARS now. I even drilled to holes into the bottom of the shelf, one on left and one on right side just big enough for an extension cord, now hubby and I both have power strips for chargers and such. Kudos to the guy who installed an actually power outlet/ box into the unit. I aspire to be that savvy someday. Wood is thick and though its laminate it has a nice finish. Top piece of molding makes it look sharp and not cheap. I do have base boards but mine didn't really get in the way of the headboard against the wall. I liked someones suggestion of using some felt pads to balance out the issue if it was to arise. It took me and my hubs a whopping 45 minutes to put this together! Not bad when I had read others spent up to three hours... not sure how that would even be possible but very happy it was a simple and enjoyable project for us. Directions are lacking in detail but if you have done similar projects I say follow your instincts and be sure to examine what pieces go where prior to assembling. Remember you are building it rough edge up. And that the top of the long piece for the head board as well as the two side pieces will be covered once you add molding at the final steps. I read the entire directions prior to starting and that made the project more clear. Good luck!

I was worried it would be damaged in shipping but the box was beat up but the item was fine, it's protected by foam, the headboard is quite strait forward to assemble, jut read the instructions, the only advice I can give is when you insert those plastic dowels make sure you got it right the first time because you going to damage the finish if you try to remove them it took me about 1 hour to assemble.

I was on the fence about getting this. I had only the pictures and reviews to go off of and I was a bit worried I wouldnt like it when I got it, or that some of the negative reviews would be my experience too. Usually for a purchase like this I would go to a store and see it in person. But the price point here made me take the plunge. I am happy that I did! The shipping was nice and fast, and the item arrived neatly packaged and protected. No defects at all. I had to open it downstairs and haul up the pieces a few at a time to my upstairs bedroom to prepare for assembly. once I had everything laid out I opened the instruction manual and began. It was actually pretty easy to put together. I did this with no help at all and was able to get it finished in about an hour and a half. Probably would take about an hour with 2 people on it. After it was assembled I placed it and put the bed against it and stood back to admire my purchase. It is not solid wood (obviously at this price) but it really does look great! It is very sturdy and I love that I have some extra storage shelves for my iPhone/Ipad, books, etc. I imagine that if you dont set drinks on it or get it wet, and just use it normally it will last for many years. So for me spending less than 200 bucks and having a nice looking piece of bedroom furniture like this, that will last for many years was a great deal. I recommend it to anyone looking for a well made, low cost, attractive headboard.

The Prepac Queen Bookcase Headboard has been a great addition to my bedroom. It’s very sturdy and durable, with a solid build that feels like it will last for years. This is a fine headboard for the price but understand what you are getting. Pros: - It is easy to put together, despite some of the reviews to the contrary. There are only about 15 pieces and while they aren't labeled, they are all unique, they are clearly shown in the directions. It took me under an hour to do byt myself. - It looks nice. The shelves are nice. Its a fine bookcase headboard. - It fits a standard king bed frame (if you have a box spring you might need to raise it a foot or so with some blocks or soemthing, easy to do but) - It shipped well. All parts, no nicks, crushed corners or stratches. The box is thick and insulated - which helped - It's sturdy the shelves are good and it hold plenty of weight. I have no doubt it will last many years as long as you don't need to move it or take it apart for any reason. Cons: - It is disposable. Make sure you assemble it in the room you intend to use it. Once assembled do not expect to move it or take it apart. It will not happen. Your going to throw it away and get a new one (either before you try to move it or after). - It is heavy. Before assembling, I moved it in pieces which was fine. Once assembled you'll want help moving it into final position. *Do not* drag it - it will just break, it's pressboard. - It does not attach to the bed frame. Its fine for me I wouldn't have attached it anyway, but if you need to, you'll need to drill holes, etc. - It will not tolerate (m)any mistakes. Take your time and know what your dealing with - follow the directions, refer to the pictures, take time to make sure your peices are facing the right way, etc. You don't want to make mistakes and have to remove screws or parts, holes will strip quickjly, and the final product will not come together nearly as well. Its pressboard.
