This book is SO gay.
Pros: - very informative - quick read (i finished it in a couple days) - quite funny and witty - lots of resources cited in the back of the book Cons: - mostly talks about gay men. briefly talks about other people in the LGBT community. - limited infomation for lesbians, transexuals, asexuals, etc. - doesn't give a lot of help if you're still questioning. I mean things that'll help you decide on whether or not you might be gay, pansexual, bisexual, asexual, etc. Like I said, it mostly speaks on behalf of gay, lesbian, and bisexual people.

Important, well written and hilarious
Juno Dawson has written a must read for anyone wishing to better themselves and the world. Learning is the key to understanding; understanding is the key to love and peace. There is no "right" truth, no matter what anyone says.

The cover blurb is true: this is the book I wish I had as a teen
I bought this book primarily because it had been placed on several “banned books” lists. Which just goes to show how afraid of facts some people are. There are only two restrained nude line drawings, one of a man and one of a woman. And their inclusion isn’t frivolous, the drawings are to enhance the educational value of the text. The text itself is factual and very matter of fact (and occasionally funny). There’s no attempt to appeal to prurient interests, only to curiosity, and to answer that curiosity with factual information, accompanied by personal quotes from a variety of people.

Very entertaining
Super informative whether you are gay or not. Totally recommended for anyone who wants to know from the very basis what being LGBTQ means

Highly recommend it to teens and parents
Well written with facts, humor and anecdotes. Non judgmental. Answers a lot of questions in well organized and self-contained chapters. Shame people want to ban it. The chapter on sex starts with a trigger warning and it's handled better than most public school Sex Ed classes.

Excellent info for confused child over 12 or so.
I bought this book because school boards are being asked to ban it. (There is no better advertisement for a book than that - great boost for the author and publisher.) I’m a 73 year old grandmother. The book is explicit but not scintillating. I have no doubt that the kids reading it have far, far more explicit and exciting sources of information. The book would be enormously helpful to a kid with questions, nothing to ban here. Happily, our local school board gave the ban request its full attention, like any other request, and then voted not to ban books.

At first I wasn't sure if I should get this or not, I thought it might be a bit cheesy and similar to pathetic advice leaflets given out in schools/colleges. However I actually found myself smiling an laughing at parts and frowning in others, but the author has written the book in a way which makes you realise individuality, personal choice and most importantly tries to help you to figure things out for yourself. I think this book is a valuable aid not just for those who are in a position where they feel the need to seek advice with issues regarding sexuality but it should be valuable for teachers in schools and for everyone who may come into contact with people from a diverse range or backgrounds. I'm glad I did order this because it has actually boosted my confidence a lot.

Saying I love this book is an understatement. This book is THE book that made me want to read more and value educational LGBT books because there is a lack of education of it in our schools. Easy to read read and follow. I'm down to my third copy of the book because I believe it should be read more and I donated the previous two books to LGBT organisms. This is a Sex-Ed book, even for straight people. It does go through the ins and outs of gay culture now. It is an interactive book, there are places to draw and write. For a ADHD person like myself, opening the book at any page, I'm sure I will learn something new or understand something better. This book is a very good start to have arguments in LGBT topics and arguments. Overall, this is is one of the best books I've read and actually use and reread very often.

I would recommend this to 14 year old me who didn’t realise that having feelings for girls was an option. If we give books to kids to learn about periods, puberty and heterosexual sex and procreation then why not include this? I’d like to see this in a bundle ready for those 11th birthdays! My only criticism is that I wish it was co-written with a women who identified as lesbian. Everything was extremely well researched and I liked that there were quotes from LGBT people but here and there it was a bit too male gay for me. But still 5 stars over all It will have you measuring your fingers to see if the research is correct!!
