Review: These are awesome! - I cycle and run. Sometimes on longer rides I would like a little, something. Music, talk, a distraction. Pros- battery life is great. I have used these out on jobs while I work. Have run them all day long, 8-10 hours on a lower volume setting and they worked all day. They fit great and are very easy to use once you remember the buttons so you can reach up and adjust them. I have used them while walking through a store and chatting on the phone. Have not had any complaints about people not being able to hear me. Out on bike rides they are good. From zero mph to around 20mph you can hear them. This also depends on the wind, meaning not the wind from you riding but Mother Nature. Above 20mph they get difficult to hear. If you’re listening to a playlist you know then you can pick out parts and know what you’re listening to. I tried listening to a podcast and above 20mph I had no idea what they were talking about. Running, they stay in place, don’t bounce around. They come with a headband but I have never used it. There are no issues with hearing anything while running. I also like these because it doesn’t block you ear canal and I can clearly hear my bike computer yelling at me when my bike radar detects a car coming from behind. I can hear the car approaching as well. You can have a conversation with people while using them but I tend to block out their voice and concentrate on the music. I do have to turn the volume down so I don’t get distracted from the conversation. Value for the money, well, they are pricey but compared to say, iPods or similar good quality ear pieces I think these are on par with other brands. I cannot speak on durability as I intentionally do not abuse them, throw, drop, kick, sling them in any way. For what I do they have held up well. If you ride, run or walk I would recommend looking into the these.
Review: Reliable Open-Ear Headphones for Long Outdoor Adventures - I've been using the OpenRun Pro from Shokz, which I bought last year specifically for a long hike up Mt. Adams, Washington—and they absolutely delivered. We started hiking at 4:00 a.m. and didn’t return to camp until around 5:00 p.m. The headphones lasted the entire day and still had about 20% battery remaining at the end. I was very impressed with the battery life; it easily handled a full, demanding day outdoors and did exactly what I needed it to do. Audio quality is solid for open-ear headphones. There isn’t much bass, but the treble is clear and well-defined. When running or hiking outside, you can clearly hear your surroundings—like people calling out as they pass you—which is a big plus for safety. That said, in louder environments with higher ambient noise, the music can become harder to hear. Comfort-wise, these were a big improvement for me. I had the original Shokz model in the past, which caused headaches and discomfort. With the OpenRun Pro, I haven’t experienced any pain or issues at all, even during long sessions. Overall, I’m very satisfied with these headphones—excellent battery life, good comfort, and reliable performance for outdoor activities.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can people around you hear what you’re listening to?**
A: At 50% volume or less, no. At 75% they can probably hear it if they are within 5 feet of you but will not be able to make out what is playing. At 100% there is a good chance anyone within 5 feet can hear it and tell what you are listening to.

**Q: I’m concerned about gym workouts. Will the band be a nuisance when I’m laying on the flat or incline bench?**
A: When you are laying on your back... with the headphones behind your head - the headphones can be annoying.

What I do... and it's not a perfect solution - is to move the headphones to the front so they wrap under your neck and the "speaker part" - attaches near your ears (like when they are used normally). This is only a temporary solution... mainly for when you lay on your back. I do this while laying in bed all the time. It works at least in my case.

**Q: Do these have the obnoxious button press beep tone like other previous models? And if so can the beep tone be disabled?**
A: The beeps are much lower, and the "disconnected from bluetooth" beep no longer continues beeping forever, it's just one small beep and thats' it.

Also the app lets you now disconnect devices from your phone which is nice.

**Q: Does it have auto sleep? Meaning the device automatically turns off after a long period of inactivity**
A: No

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love these for cycling!
*by P***1 on July 26, 2024*

I was a little skeptical about these at first, but after talking to others and reading reviews, I decided to get these. I have to say, I really love these things! I have no problem wearing them with my bike helmet on, and they feel like I'm not wearing anything on my ears. The sound quality is much better than I expected. They are not as good as the best in-ear buds, but they are good enough and the benefits far outweigh the cons. I used to only wear one ear bud, loosely in one ear so that I could be aware of my surroundings while riding. Now I can wear these as-is and hear everything around me while listening to music in stereo at regular the same time. Very cool. These are really a game changer for me! I've also tried these in my home office on Teams and Webex calls and they work great. I can seriously wear them all day with zero discomfort. Some cons: Some people say that they can become useless at high speeds with wind noise. I have not really experienced this problem even at 20-25mph. Maybe this could be a problem on a really windy day at these speeds. I suppose it could be a problem on a long decent as well at higher speeds, but really the climb is where I need some music to get through it sometimes. Another con is if you answer your cell phone while riding (you can do that by tapping the side button) you need to stop or slow down so that both sides can hear each other. And lastly, I wish the charge lasted longer. I can't really use them all day at work and then go on a long bike ride. I do realize though, that the bone conduction technology has to use more energy than standard earbuds to achieve the same volume, so I understand this and am okay with it. (Maybe I'll get another pair some day for my home office!) Other thoughts: My wife bought the OpenFit Open-Ear model after trying these out because she prefers the individual earbuds that do not go around the back of the head. Those are awesome too with possibly slightly better sound quality. But for me I prefer these because I find it much easier to put them on my head, especially because I don't have as much hair as she does. They kind of just fall into place, with no adjustments needed.
