I realize this product is a little pricey compared to other competitors, but it's definitely worth it. First impressions is that it has an incredibly solid feel, it is very study construction and the wood on the handle feels wonderful. It's comfortable to hold and very easy to operate. It also comes with a nice little plastic shield that slides over the blades when not in use...safety first! As for function, holy cow this thing works fast! it's multiple times faster than the OXO that I have been using and that is no exaggeration. My main use for a Microplane is shredding parmesan, because let's be honest, if it's not freshly shredded parmesan it just isn't true parmesan...the taste difference is insane. Being able to quickly shred parmesan into the pasta salads that I love to make is important to me and this will suit me very well indeed. I've attached a photo of what the shredded cheese looks like in case anyone is curious what the end result looks like. After that little test, it took me 30 seconds to have it completely clean, so that's awesome as well. In summary: It looks super nice, it feels super nice and it functions spectacularly! It is a little expensive, but trust me you will not regret this purchase.

Wow, my zesting game just changed! I cannot believe the ease of this thing and what it yields. If you zest often, I would say this is a must have.

Blades are super sharp so its really easy to use. Has a nice grip at the bottom so you can stand it up. My favorite feature versus other products is the wooden handle, its good for the environment and stylish!

This is a beautiful tool for your kitchen. It feels nice in hand, works well and easy on the eyes, but for the blades to be made in the US, the wood sourced in the US why the heck is it made in China? Had I known it was made in China I likely would have purchased at this price point. It seems silly to me to do so much in the US to ship it to China to assemble.

This is the nicest build quality of any microplane grater I've ever owned. No plastic on it at all. The wood handle is solid and balances well with the substantial steel frame (US Made). There's even a "no-slide-rubber grippy bumper" on the end of the steel frame... nice touch. It grates perfectly as you would expect from a quality kitchen tool. I was a bit perplexed by the sticker adhered to the back of the grating blade but it peeled away without drama or glue residue. My guess would be that this is probably best hand washed rather than cleaned in a dishwasher but that's a given with any nice quality cutting edges. All in all, I'm very happy with this and highly recommend it.

it looks like a fake, there is no box, the metal of the bezel is very thin. There is no inscription that it was made in the USA.

Very sharp and excellent quality. Says "made in USA " but in fact is made under license in China. Isn't everything these days? Credit where due though, this is a durable, well designed, easy to clean classy unit that works how it should. Very sharp, so watch those fingers.

This is a very nice looking gadget but it is better buy a box grater. Although it is very sharp I found it ackward to use. The form is better suited to the work shop than the kitchen. Would not ever, ever buy this again.

This thing is a solid chunk of metal, real wood is used in the handle and is very sharp. It almost works too good. it takes off the zest off a lime and lemon with the smallest of movement. The plastic sheath is a welcomed feature too.

Superb item. Metal reinforced arms mean you can bang on the side of a pot without breaking the plane. Leather (?) foot great for grating on benches. V. happy.
