The wood is good quality - no splits or knots and they were easy to drive into the dirt to hold corrugated metal edging in place. Review: Sturdy no cracks - I got these (I really only needed one or two) to stabilize a wooden gate post. The hole for the 4x4 post had wallowed out and I used two against the side of the post to take up the slack. It worked well for my purposes. This was only a lightweight yard gate (4'x4') for pedestrian use. I would have gotten cement if it would have been for a heavy gate. I also have used a couple as risers under a couch to level it. They worked perfectly.
