Works very well
It works really well with stainless steel cable ties. Yes it is a bit pricey but it make life much easier using the steel ties.

Worked perfectly for Honda band clamps
If you're a professional, this is probably not the tool for you, but it's pretty good. I was skeptical at first, but was surprised how well my bands turned out. You need to get the angle just right when tensioning. Play the tool up and down a little until you find the sweet spot. I found it to work best about 30-40 degrees above tangent (does that make sense?). I did not use a torque wrench to set the tension, instead I snugged it by hand and then pulled 1/2" more band with the tool (as the Honda manual suggests). Once you have the band where you want it, bend it up 90 degrees and remove the tool. I found the ends of the bands were easy to trim by holding the spot I wanted to cut with a pair of dikes and bending the end of the band back and forth a dozen times or so. It snaps right off, no need for a fancy cutter. Great product, low price, and it doesn't take up much room in your toolbox.

Super easy
I donโt have much experience with cv boot clamp tools, but I chose this because of the price and company that make this product. Lisle overall makes good tools. I used a socket and ratchet to tighten the clamp and some tin snips to cut it. Super easy and simple to use.

They are very basic and they work like they are supposed to
Although I haven't actually used this tool as of yet. I can honestly say it's a solid tool and not going to brake on you unless you decide to beat on it with a hammer or something? I have borrowed one from a friend in the past and it looks identical to the one he lent me. There isn't much to these things to start with so there isn't much to go wrong on it. They are very basic and they work like they are supposed to. I will do an update once I actually use it but I highly doubt anything is going to go wrong with it? Unless for some odd reason I lose my mind and take it out on this tool with the whole hammer thing I mentioned earlier!? LoL.

Meh. OK for infrequent use
I was able to tighten the bands after rebuilding my CV joints using this tool, but it was awkward to use. It is one of those purchases that made me wish I had gotten a better quality tool. Since I don't imagine doing CV joints that often, it is workable, and I will keep it, but I would not recommend it to anyone that would use a tool like this frequently.

Simple tool, could use fine-tuning
This is a very simple tool for tightening certain axle boot band clamps. However, the edges of the tool are quite rough and unrefined, and for the force required to tighten some bands, it may end up just slicing them too early as you twist, wasting a clamp and forcing you to do it again. I recommend lightly sanding/filing the edges of the center pin so its not quite so prone to slicing the bands unexpectedly
