Often when buying things on Amazon you have to take all the descriptions with a pinch of salt, however if anything the description of this item undersells it. For the low price I was expecting something cheaply made and barely functioning (I was also worried there wouldn't be a custom time set) so when it arrived and I opened the box I was blown away. Packaging was very secure but not obnoxiously so, it was obvious the item would arrive in perfect condition but it didn't take me hours to unwrap. Setup was instant with clear large print instructions on a handy A4 card and a sticker on the item itself to help navigate. Can store items for custom time periods in hour and day increments. These items do not have to be tech, the shelves inside can be removed easily leaving a very sizeable area for storage (other reviews have pictures of it's size for reference). The override feature is very useful and has a further override option should that fail, both of which are detailed on the instruction card so if you have poor willpower like me you can just scribble out those bits. The safe itself is not particularly robust, and could be broken into destructivly with some effort. However, this would likely damage the product irreparably and definitely be visible, so it is unlikely anyone would be able to access the safe without your knowing without the override features. Safe can be battery powered or plugged in. The wire needed is very common, but it comes with a high quality wire already that is really quite long. I can't comment on battery efficiency as I use this wired. This item is a perfect solution to any unhealthy habit, especially for the price. Definitely recommend.

I have no idea why this is (only) aimed as a tech device locking system because it is so perfect for snacks and sweets! I use this box to store all my desert items so that I can finally limit myself to only one per meal, literally for the first time of my life! AT LEAST that little voice in my head can not talk me into getting an other one since they are all behind a lock! This is literally life changing and liberating as I do absolutely need a snack to ends every one of my meal - otherwise I am still hungry! It is so ridiculous to get to that extend to control the gluttony, but it is incredibly effective indeed! And the value is fantastic too! Not only the various food storage locking systems cost about 2 to 3 times this price, but they are all much smaller as well and seems to use some strange old interfaces. They are usually poorly built too with people reporting being able to break in - hence their low rating on Amazon. This one is SOLID though. Despite being light so the construction must be seems very smart! The only drawback is that it is doing some tremendous noise when the time is up as it rings. Quite a shame as I would prefer the thing to be discreet about the time being up:) I am still hoping to find some settings that I have missed though... I hugely recommend this! So much in fact that I consider getting a second unit for my wife as she is addicted to her electronic devices because of her work indeed Funny enough, she set the code of my unit and I would set the code of hers :D Again, ridiculous (and dystopian) but very effective :D

This Is a very useful item it works perfectly without any problems I just wish you could turn the beeping noise off or turn it down as it does get annoying. It is made from a strong plasticy material. It is very sturdy and it works perfectly with keeping your kids off their devices.

WOW. Just WOW. For £20, I expected something that barely worked! This has blown me away! Easy to use, fits my lappy at an angle, fits all the phones! Made of some sort of sturdy metal-style plastic, not metal. But very sturdy, well built nonetheless. What I was looking for was a lock-box that would not be broken into without breaking the items inside, and this is it.

Very easy to operate and everything seems to be working. It is surprisingly big so my plan to keep it on my working desk is not gonna work which is an advantage and disadvantage at the same time. What is not great is the sound, it would be great to be able to switch it off. But as that does not seem to be an option, I will either try to tape the speaker or look inside it to figure out if it can be disconnected.

Update: I'm locked out and can't get back in. Whilst it was counting down I checked to see if I could extend the time by an hour, so I clicked the HOUR button. A small white square started flashing in the top right corner and even when the countdown finished it won't open. I've tried pulling the power and batteries for an hour and when I restart it the square is flashing and it won't open. I have no choice but to force it open now. It's being sold as a tech break device, but I use it to help me with my dieting by locking the snacks away and it works great. There is no clock to set, it all works on counting down and then opening the door at the end of the countdown. Hourly - increments number of hours per click Bedtime - same as Hourly but starts at 10 hours 24 hours - increments 24 hours at a time, and probably not used much. It does come with a power cable, but can also run off 3 AA batteries (not included) One thing, it has a keypad on the back to gain access in an emergency. First thing I had to do was ask someone to change the 6 digit code and not to tell me as I don't want to gain access until the countdown is reached. It's not made of metal as some reviews suggest, but it is made of sturdy plastic and so far (3 days since purchase) I'm very impressed with it and how easy it is to use. Definitely worth the £20 I paid in Apr 2024

I don't leave reviews often, but I'm amazed something so decent is so cheap - I've seen lockboxes that were twice the price of this but that were a bit useless because you could override/unlock it whenever. Would work for most habits you want to put away for a bit, good build and features, and if you have someone else set the passcode you cannot get in before the timer runs out! Seems the ideal tool to teach me a bit of self discipline :)

Bought this as a simple way to put devices out of kids reach to back up timings on homework and use of phones etc. WIll hold them 'secure' with a timed lock or you can override with a code. Decent enough size for most tablets and phones but laptops may be too big. Worked well at the time, though the battery will run out meaning having to set it up again. Worth considering if overuse of devices or a way to enforce discipline is required.
