Attwood Sahara MK2 Automatic Bilge Pump

Works great, three wire design is great, you cat have it in auto all the time, and use it as a manual. Definitely recommend.

Works well and easy to install

I put this in my dinghy and it works great. Seems like only 350 gpm compared the old 500 gpm model it replaced. Could be due to the anti drain back valve. Seems pretty good quality.

I installed this bilge pump on a 17 foot open skiff with center console. It worked when I installed it. I attached a solar trickle charger. When I returned after the first rain, the battery was completely drained (it was fully charged when installed). After removing the unit and manually testing the float pump (in and out of the basket) the float stuck about once every 6 times. When I put it in the basket the failure rate was higher. I have made multiple calls to Attwood with long hold times and requests for call backs, but I have received no response. From my perspective this is a pretty significant manufacturing defect. I am returning this product and purchasing a different unit and I do not see myself buying this brand again.

Well this is number 2. 1st one melted and was wired correctly. 2nd one seems to be good so far.

You should install this pump with a single pole double throw switch that is off in the middle that way you can leave it in the auto position to pump when you're away or you can switch it to the manual mode and pump out the bilge when you want all the water gone. In the auto mode the float switch will leave a small amount of water in the bilge. It comes with a 90° as well as a straight fitting to attach to a hose. That made it easy for me to position it under the engine. I would recommend this to a friend.

I bought this model mainly because of the location of the release buttons. I put this in my Sea Doo where it is very tight and other models were impossible for me to get to the release buttons. Unfortunately this only worked for a couple of months before the internal float switch stopped working. This made it useless to me, so I replaced it with one of those other pumps.

The item was in the boat for a couple of weeks and last time I tested it would not start unless I spun the impeller by hand first. Tested on a 100Ah AGM as well as a 230 LifePo4. Same result. Bilge was full of rain water. Even though I purchased 21 Dec 24 and installed in late Jan 25 I can not return the item.
