DT 900 PRO X Studio Headphone, Open Systems

"Beyerdynamic Makes Audible Tanks." Yes they last forever, but not the cushions and the earpads, they have a definite lifespan to survive. That happens to almost every headphone out there. The sound signature is very good, the lows mids and highs are pretty much balanced. And most importantly the highs which Beyerdynamic lacked considerably in their majority of models, have been properly elevated in pro X. Though they sound a little bit like metallic resonating highs, but that is very negligible and hard to notice. The bass is considerable and has enough depth to feel the rumble below 40 hz. The Frequency range in Pro X is 5 hz to 40 khz which is not useless, but it does help in not being restrictive and gives the sound an extra uncompromising edge. And plenty of room for all the frequencies to work around. The material quality is rugged, design and wearability is very very comfortable, the ear pads are extremely soft and does not cause ear fatigue even for hours of wearing. The detachable cable is the best and USP for me. Best for Music production as well. Overall the top notch Headphones from Beyerdynamic if available in stock.... For India - The sad part is that the 'Beyerdynamic India' is not co-operative and has no much to offer in terms of replacement parts. Also they deny having parts for the older models for eg. i contacted them for the headband for Custom one pro. Which has the similar headband to DT 700 pro. But they did't reply with positive answer, saying that the model is obsolete. But that was none of their concern, as i was just asking them to send the DT 700 pro headband, rest is my own responsibility. But they didn't respond ever after that. I did't ask them "whether the Custom one pro are obsolete or not". I asked them for the headband for DT 700 pro thats it, but they decided to give oversmart reply. Anyway. You'll have to rely on aftermarket parts.

Open-back Design comes with benefits and it’s shortcomings. Overall a quality product and I’m loving it!! Professionals can check for the sound curve and for beginners it’s a worthy upgrade. +This is remarkable piece of equipment for Critical Listening giving a wider soundstage -Being open-back means it is not insulated and sound will leak in or out. +Sound reproduction is gooood! It’s clean with clear and thumpy base. Good highs, mids & low ends. +comfy and airy ear cushions also replaceable +clamping action is comfortable for long sessions +good for sound mixing and mastering, even better in a controlled environment like a studio -not advisable for recording, closed version dt 700pro x is a better option because of the closed-back design If you are someone who likes to hear instruments clearly, enjoy the vocals, don’t like overpowering bass without compromising the thump in the lows like kick drum, then this does it with a breeze. Construction quality is superb and sturdy. Speaks volumes of quality. Designed for audio production but also for people who appreciate clean audio.

Generally I Don't show up for review, very often, but I thaught I should let everyone know how perfect this headphone is. I am an Audiophile and I do lot of research on sound. I already have many headphone like sony, philips, audio technica and all those common brand. I recently developed two DAC headphone amplifier for high end sound. Then I thought I should buy this legendary headphone to test the actual output of my handmade headphone amplifier. I received it today and I plugged it to my amp. Boy oh boy, what a quality of the sound. I never heard the breath of the singer when she is taking pause. The drums, OH my god those were tremendous accurate reproduction. The mid is perfect and soothing, highs are crisp, the sub bus is good ( if not great) . This headphones are surely not for those bass lover, but if you really want to listen to the music of another level, then surely this is the right choice. Waiting for the burn in period, and eagerly want to know what it has more to offer.

Better sound quality than 990 pro. Well built and comfortable. Nothing to complain. The price is similar to other brands in this quality range. Bought this due to prior good experience with Bayer dynamic.

Absolute clean and flat sound for Music Production. A bit heavy which can cause neck pain.

I have used DT 770 pro 32ohm and have just received the DT 700 PRO X and i must say all the cons of 770 have been rectified. No sibliance, no more of that infamous beyer peak. Pretty much of an neutral audiophile grade headphone. Bass is tight and does not bleed into mids. Mids are well balanced and treble is extended but not overly bright. Ear pad cushion is very comfortable and could wear them all day without any discomfort. Overall beyerdynamics DT 700 PRO X is a definite upgrade over DT 770 PRO.

The difference is night and day coming from an ATH M50 in terms of every aspect of an audiophile headphone. The comfort, sound quality and longevity are top notch.

Excellent sound profile

El producto cumple perfectamente por el precio, unos audífonos de 48 homs generan gran versatibilidad para utilizar en casi cualquier reproductor de audio que tenga salida auxiliar, incluye 2 cables uno corto y uno largo. Construcción: Físicamente es en su mayoría plástico pero de muy buena calidad lo que significa que resistirá muchos años. Sonido: excelente, es muy divertido para escuchar música, muy buen bajo ( sin exagerar ) agudos muy agradables, y la separación de sonido es muy limpia. PC Gaming: otro motivo por el cual me decidí por estos es porque leí muy buenas reseñas, pasé de utilizar unos audífonos HD 600 a estos, y en gaming los Dt 900 pro X se lo llevan de calle para juegos tipo FPS, es muy fácil distinguir si un enemigo viene por izquierda, derecha, enfrente, atrás, arriba, abajo, pero no solo eso, espacialmente puedes ubicarlos perfectamente gracias al soundstage y el Imaging que ofrece, 10-10 para jugar. Antes probé unos Astro A40 TR y estos a pesar de tener un soundstage más amplio, estos tienen mal Imaging ( sabes que viene el enemigo pero no puedes tener un buen nivel de posicionamiento como el que ofrecen los DT 900 pro X) los astro en calidad auditiva ni comparar no son rival. Resumen: los DT 900 pro X, cumplen Perfectamente a mi gusto lo que vale, obtienes un producto de buena calidad, buenos materiales, comodidad, y lo recomendaría para personas no tan exigentes en audio pero tampoco a los que quieren quedarse en lo básico.

The nicest sound I have heard, I bought these as I often play competitive games but also enjoy listening to music. It is a great balance of the two; music sounds great, and sound within games is not compromised whatsoever, and I am never finding that teammates are hearing more than me etc. and it was a noticeable upgrade from any headset I had used before. They are incredibly comfortable. I have worn them for many hours without any discomfort. Three years later and the cups are still in good condition and the build of the actual headphones is solid. My only issue is that the material on the actual headband deteriorated and eventually came off.

Sadly, putting in this review at the 3-year mark (5 stars so people see this review, read the end): I've used these daily for about 3 years, so here are things you should know: - The audio is fantastic. It lived up to the hype, and it was 100% worth the money as far as audio goes. Not a single complaint here, I absolutely love these. - The headphones are pretty comfortable, the ear cushions are pretty stiff initially, so just give them a couple days for them to break in a bit. - While the overall structure quality is very solid, there's a known issue where the material covering the headband cushioning comes off after a while. The cushioning remains in place however, so it doesn't make a difference as far as comfort goes Unfortunately, after a wonderful 3 years, the right side of the headphones stopped working completely. I took very good care of these, never dropped them, so I couldn't avoid this in any way. It seems to be an issue with the cable that goes into and through the headband (the cable that connects both sides). It must be kept at a very specific angle for the right side to turn back on, otherwise, I'm stuck with only one side playing audio. I no longer have the warranty, but I'll be contacting customer support anyway. If anything good comes from it, I'll update this review
