The hair is nicer than a lot of Disney Princess dolls we have purchased. The tail is basically three pieces: a top, a bottom, and then the little fins at the bottom detaches. The top and bottom parts of the tail could be a lot sturdier in my opinion. I think the parts that hook together on those will break quickly. Popping the fins on and off won’t be something my 3 year old daughter will be able to do herself every time either. I also think this Ariel doll is ridiculously thin. I purchased the doll to use on a birthday cake, and I think I will be able to make it work, but the tail does not bed into a sitting position.
