I was highly skeptical about this pencil grip, but went ahead and purchased it out of desperation. If you have a child that needs help with pencil placement you need this pencil grip. Within a week of using it, my daughter has defaulted to the correct pencil placement without even realizing it. She was even amazed herself. It is a fun tool to use for kids and it is EXTREMELY effective. There is only one way to hold this grip...and it is the correct way. Kids won't be chewing on it or biting it. The actual pencil (it is a mechanical pencil) is permanently attached to the grip and replacement leads are included with the package. We used one entire lead before reverting back to a regular pencil (as a test) to see how my daughter's placement would be. As I've said, this grip corrected my daughter's problem (without any tears) and actually quite to our delight! Yes, it is expensive, but so so worth it!

I'm am occupational therapist and these are an excellent tool for helping children learn to hold the pencil with an efficient grasp. The mechanical aspect is great if an adult is able to keep track of them given the price; little harder loss when they disappear.

I love the concept. However, it is not practical for preschool age children. A push top pencil breaks easily since they are beginners. The grip itself is good but was attached to pencil and could not put it on other pencils.

This thing is a lifesaver! My 8 yr old boy has a horrendously bad pencil grip. His teacher picked this one out and we have seen great results. Our only complaint is that we dont like the mechanical pencils. He needs thicker lead or he just breaks it by bearing down too hard. We also wish it came in standard marker and crayon diameter. When he uses crayons or markers, we see the horribly finger pile-up return! Great device. Much better than those rubbed little ones.

Kind of disappointed. After reading all the reviews I got really excited. My daughter is 6 and struggles with her handwriting because she has gotten used to holding her pen incorrectly and simply can't seem to train herself differently. The grip works just as expected and really does help her a lot. What I didn't expect was the gripper to not come off! I thought this would be able to go on other pencils and pens. My child is struggling with handwriting and the only gripper that helps her is attached to a FINE POINT mechanical pencil. Not even the newer 1.3mm that are harder for kids to break. She went thru the led in a matter of days and honestly as perfect as the grippers are it is going to cost me a fortune to keep lead in them so I am not convinced they are worth it... Really wish they sold ones that could go on different pens and pencils or even a pencil with thicker lead.

We were unsuccessful in our attempts to teach our, now 4 yr old, son (that's a lefty) how to hold writing utensils properly to write and draw. After much review we ordered this product which arrived on time. Immediately our son was able to use this device with great accuracy, no teaching needed! He would not put it down and finally exudes a drive wanting to write and draw everyday. It comes with two, so We keep one at his school and one at home. I'm impressed that the company includes several refills. When ordering I didn't know that these are attached to the small sized pencil and cannot transfer to crayons or markers. This is the only negative but it makes sense, while learning, to use proper dexterity and then practice without it too on other writing utensils. The pencil is small and light weight, making this process perfect for tiny hands.

I ordered several of the WriteRight Pencil grip for my son's Kindergarten class. I was disappointed to find out that half of the pencils broke before the lead even needed to be replaced. These pencils are not worth the price.

My daughter and I both love the pencils. The end of her pencil fell off so she had to cap it with an eraser so the lead doesn't fall out. My pencil stopped working, I can not click the back of it to get lead out. It is stuck.
