This worked unlocking some of our indoor doors in our very old home

Solid and functional.
Got these keys for the 100 year old mortise locks in my home. My son is a teenager now and needs a little more privacy, but not TOO much privacy!So I cleaned and lubricated the old locks and got these keys. Now he can have his privacy, but if I suspect foul play, I can unlock his door from the outside, as well.They fit perfectly and open all the locks in the house with ease. Great skeleton keys!

Not as pictured- looks painted
This key does not look the same as the listing nor does it look like other review photos. I understand brass develops a patina over time and I also understand some brass is lacquered, but this just does not feel or look like brass to me. It looks like it is actually painted. It is light weight for brass and also has a seam around the edge. In spots there are bubbles or imperfections, and it’s hard to say whether it’s from when the item was cast or if it’s literally paint. Either way, this is not as expected and although I didn’t purchase it for use, I really would hesitate to use this regularly as a key.

Class and solid
I am converting an old room into an airbnb and I had to make sure the lock was oiled and functioning but these keys worked immediately and feel quite sturdy and I enjoy the antique brass look with the antique lock I have.

Why are you buying it?
We bought this to actually work in an old lock set. Initially it didn't work but because my husband has knowledge about how they work he was able to adapt it. If you are hoping to just buy a usable key make sure you know someone who can adapt it.
