Use this pillow when I hurt my back. It has great support and helps with the pain/comfort. My 88 year old mother also uses it to help with support.

I originally bought this to assist in supporting my lower back while doing floor ab exercises but there was little give in the pillow even with my weight directly on it. I then tried to use it as lumbar support at my office chair but it forced me so far forward that I could barely keep my butt on the chair. However, it did seem like good quality material, and for someone looking for intense support, I believe it would be a viable option.

I was looking for an "old style" lumbar support you could use in an auto, sofa or office chair. A basic, not too wide or too thick support. This is not it. Even with my hyper lordotic curve it's too thick, not spread out over a taller area. It's quite wide like for wide-waist folks which I'm not but what makes it uncomfortable is the "lump". I need something with less thickness and a taller taper. My search continues.

Unlike regular rectangular pillows, this one fits the contour of your back and had a protruding disc that actually hits the lower spine. I don't actually have a spinal issue but it feels great and would be especially nice for those who do. Also an appropriate "kidney" shape. I wasn't prepared for the way it arrives compressed and expands on opening into its final shape, like a foam "space"mattress I bought once. I assume the same procedure is required here... you have to just allow it to unfold and decompress over a long period without forcing it open to avoid breaking it in two. There were no instructions to that effect in my package so caveat emptor.

I absolutely love this pillow! It is a great quality memory type foam. It is soft yet firm and thick enough to be very supportive for my bad back. I love it on the couch, In the car, in my bed and at my desk! It works for your low back, mid back or upper back Get one! 😀 You will love it.

UPDATE: Customer service reached out unilaterally resolved the issues - no questions asked. That's good service. I'm open to trying other products from this company. Changing review from 1 star to 4 stars because the seller stands by its products. 1. Smell - The pillow smells like it was retrieved from a chemical spill. Awful smell. It'll take days to air out the pillow and get rid of the smell. 2. Support - The pillow provides limited lumbar support. It stays compressed and doesn't provide a firm level of lumbar pressure. It's apparent it will go flat sooner rather than later. 3. Size - The photos and videos make it appear the pillow can be squished into a small roll to fit in a carry-on airplane bag. But it's huge and will take up a quarter of the carry-on bag. I'm not impressed at all. I'll give it a try and post an update if it turns out better than the first impression.
