First class all round. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by E***R on 7 July 2022* I was happy to find it worked directly with the USB C input on my iPad Pro without a docking station. Very good sound. So far as I can tell there is no or little amplification stage. The sound level is the same as when I plug in my headphones through a USB C to headphone adapter. I believe Helm Audio makes a separate headphone amplifier. This DAC drives my HiFiMan HE 400i headphones adequately, albeit at close to full volume. But the same is not true when I connect this to my MacBook Air. There the volume is inadequate. Reminder that to enable hi res on an iPad you have to go into the Music Settings. Otherwise you just get lossless.
