And mainly to cook a hard-boiled egg if you will call it, without having to remove the shell after being cooked since this is such a pain. The first use even with oil added to the inside of the silicone cup resulted in egg sticking to it. And it’s actually not that easy to wash out eggs sticks and it sticks good! Also, I bought them so that I could crack in egg place it in the cup and place it in the instant pot. Well, first of all their tipsy Turvey so be careful because they turn Over/spill easily. So instead of trying that first on the counter and placing them into the instant pot, I would then place them on the trivet in the instant pot and then crack the egg and put the egg in there. They work pretty well and, despite the odd shape, they sit upright without support.First, give them a shot of cooking spray or smear some olive oil to keep the egg from sticking. I microwave eggs, so instructions indicate to pierce the yolk and add a tablespoon of water. My typical 1000 watt microwave takes about 45 seconds for a single egg, though you need to adjust the time for multiple cups.The result isn't as pretty or smooth as when using an old-fashioned boiling cooker--the egg tends to look pretty lumpy and you need to pour off the hot water afterwards, but the taste is fine.Despite the oil, I always need to scrape a bit of residue out of the cup before putting them in the dishwasher. (Yes, dishwasher safe!)Useful, compact items, but they aren't as good as the old fashioned boiling cooker. Was trying to replicate sous vide egg bites from starbucks... kept having the water over flow in the cups. The cups are nice and resilient. Recommended grabbing cups with tongs, a lot of my eggs flop out using the loop the hole with a fork method. The eggs that survive the boiling method didn't stick to cup. If they did stick the egg wasn't cook enough. Also recommend not to fill the container all the way.
