The picture is upside down. This kind of water level valve, works great, and has they own floater inside, all in a compact building.

From the picture which is upside down, the water level line is about 1/4" above that stainless screw, or 1/4" below if installed on the pool. I install it on my pool and this works good. When on its on full blast, when its off its off. So end up buying 2 fittings 1/2" regular irrigation elbow (FF, FM), which height can be adjusted by turning the elbow. I remove 1 star because the documentation is in chinese and no Locknut provided. The locknut position the unit firmly upright and lockit. Its good I have one from my old valve.

This was pointless, water leaks from the bottom instead of going through the outlet. I used it as a secondary inline float control and it caused more problems.

This is the second one I have purchased. The first one broke when the water froze in the water tank. I will buy it again if I need to.
